Coach Pat Riley issued a one-sentence statement Wednesday regarding the future of the Miami Heat: Shaquille O'Neal will be a part of it.

"Amongst growing speculation in the media, in reference to Shaq, I want to set the record straight and say that we are not trading Shaq," Riley said.

Putting O'Neal on the market became a rumor topic after the Chicago Bulls swept the defending NBA champion Heat in the first round of the playoffs. At age 35, O'Neal failed to reach the second round for the first time since 1994.

I think Shaq will play out the rest of his contract.

What ever. I just want to see more effort from Shaq. He really stepped it up when Wade went down, but then reverted back to his slow self.

For 20 million dollars, we certaintly aren't getting equal value.

well...we did get a ring.....but I dont think its an effort thing....I think he's tired....he's a huge man.....his age has got to be catching up to him.

At age 35, he should do the right thing and take a pay cut. We could definitely use the money to fill other holes through free agency. Our team needs to be faster, needs to be more athletic, needs to be healthier, and definitely needs to be younger. We need a point guard, but I also think we should re-evaluate the PF position.

Haslem as our long term answer at PF doesn't cut it.

we should have done what was neccasery to get Bibby......

Heat should do is try to get Billups in the offseason. ( I wish) Heat should try to trade for Ron Artest, i dont care if he's a bad person.. But he's a great defender, and underrated Scorer.. he'll help the Heat alot. Heat should draft a PG like A.C Law from Texas A&M.. Great shooter,Clutch and good defender.

there is a rumor of J-Williams and someone else (i forgot who) to NY for Marbury.

Haslem isn't the future at PF? Haslem isn't a top PF but he is a very good role player and a key part of our defense and a very good rebounder.
