Ringing endorsement for Cam Wake by Denver's starting RT Orlando Franklin

IMO, the move to the 4-3 will really help Wake, especially if we sign Mario Williams or draft Mercilus, and if Coyle is hired and we sign Manny Lawson, having Burnett and Lawson blitzing, it could be a banner year for the pass rush.

Say what you will about Burnett, he can blitz.

I think Wake was really unlucky last year, which could save the Dolphins a ton of money if they are able to extend him this offseason.

Paul Soliai made 25.79 times more than Wake this past season

Solia the PB? The ANCHOR of a 3-4 scheme? The guy who helped lead the 3rd best rush defense in the league?

He deserved his payday. Too bad he wasn't extended or signed, the Franchise tag paid off for him.

Cam Wake was the one thing the Parcells era did right. He is one of my favorite players - love the dude's motor, never stops.

He's a beast. We know he's a beast. My favorite player on our roster. Even during the terrible start, he was the only one who played like he gave a damn.

With all due respect, I like Soliai, but there's no way he "deserved" $12.4M. He won the lottery with the franchise tag (and the ridiculous Haynesworth bonus), but on his play, there's no way he "deserves" to be the 10th highest paid player in the league, or the 4th highest d-lineman, or the highest on our team.

Considering he was held on almost every play, Wake was near the top of the league in both QB knockdowns and QB pressures.

Wake was great this past year and his run defense improved tremendously.

Wake is an ideal 3-4 WOLB and even better pass rusher when he can put his hand in the dirt.

GREAT POINT!! I know it didn't matter in the game but the opener against the Patriots,I was there and Nate Solder and Vollmer were both holding him all night a never a flag!!!!

Not his fault he was franchised.

yeah it kinda was. He was offered a very nice contract...I think it was something like $8 million a year for 4 or 5 years...he wanted more and at the time we had no NT to plug in for him. He signed the franchise tender, didn't play as well and now he's walking. He won't be getting that $10 million/year contract he was looking for from anybody.

Too bad the overrated, overhyped, old and broken down JT was playing opposite him all year generating NOTHING in the way of a pass rush to help Wake. Thank god he retired.
