Rishard Matthews

Love this guy. Love him. Can see him being "sort" of like Oronde Gadsden, maybe not as big of hands.
Gibson is still our slot guy. But at the very least, Matthews has a role as our 4th receiver.

I'm a little more bullish on our WR group than some others may be.

I think Matthews makes both Hartline and Gibson expendable. Hartline's contract kinda sucks so he would be hard to move, and Gibson we wouldnt be able to get much for so we are better off keeping him. If either of the two get injured, id be exited to see Matthews take over their spot. I said the same exact thing last season many times in the VIP chat and in the forum. I think Matthews has the potential to be a very solid reciever.

Agreed. Some may not agree but I think he would do just fine on the boundary. He's got pretty good feet, hands, and toughness. The slot is fine too but he's a favorite on the team of mine

The article sounded like they are now expecting Gibson back. That's too bad. He was just coming on when he got hurt.

This really has no value. This is based off of one blogger's personal opinion. There are no sources, quotes, or anything of value behind suggesting that Matthews has moved ahead of Gibson.

While this is all plausible I think the Dolphins will utilize 4 WR.

hope gibson comes back strong so we can have both rishard and gibson. really like them both

I keep reading that Matthews could upseat Gibson. While i like Mathews, I'd hate to give up on Gibson so early, he has potential I'd like to see.

Matthews got exposed in the 2nd half of that 2nd Jets game. Hartline got injured and Matthews took his spot and stunk up the joint. No separation and a really bad drop when the game still hung in the balance.
He's a great 4th WR but a guy like Damian Williams might be a better fit to replace an injured 1,2,or 3.

Matthews is perfect in the slot. Like somebody said above, he's our new Gadsden. Kid can play.

Gibson isn't going anywhere....

Matthews is solid for what he is but he is not a starting caliber wr imo and makes none of our players ahead of him expendable

WOW!!! The guy had his one and only drop all year. Aside from that, catches 4 of 6 targets for a 14.5 avg, and had his best game in YAC averaging over 7 yards. Yeah, he really got exposed and stunk it up. LOL, and then some.

He played well in his second year, and I believe he will take another step this year. As far as I know, he was our only contributing WR to be working out with Tannehill so far. This has to help, and says a lot about his desire to get better.
