OSU/UM is tomorrow and I wanted to make a thread all about rivalries. More specifically, your schools rivalries and which one you think is the best one.

1. Florida has been around for 100 years and out of the many teams they've played all those years, I must say University of Miami is the biggest rivalry. I know they don't play much anymore, but back in the day, these two teams would highlight the matchup. This game has had its fights, its nail-biters, and the infamous "Gator Flop"

2. Florida State University would be everyone's obvious choice for the Gators. They always seem to have something on the line when they face eachother every year, except this one. They've had their fair share of brawls, their blowouts (42-7, anybody?) and nailbiters. This game, however, has less history than that of UM/FSU.

3. Georgia, the bordering state. The World's Largest Outdoor ****tail Party. Ever wonder why they play on a neutral field? This game is usually about winning the SEC East, and with that on the line, the players and the fans get UGLY! UF has had the upper hand against UGA as of late, but the overall record is still tight.

4. "You can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT." I really hate this team, but I can't hate on Peyton Manning. He never beat the Gators. These games always seem to go down to the wire, and they do.

5. Probably a newer rivalry, South Carolina. The Ol' ball coach seems to know his Ol' Alma Matter a little too much. A win last year and a 1 point loss due to a blocked kick. The rivalry is still too young, but it has all the ingredients to be a nasty matchup in the near future.

Now, any comments and how bout your school's most hated rivals?

I envy you

I'm both a Longhorns AND Sooners fan...and the Red River Rivalry is one of my favorite times of the year...sad thing is, it's been a while since it's actually been competitive. I'm hoping it can get back to it's old self soon.

After that, I really don't have teams that I live and die for in college football, which makes it great because I pretty much love any rivalry games.

UF/Georgia always seems to be a favorite of mine -- there just always seems to be some hard hitting and physical football.

Notre Dame - USC/Michigan/MSU/Purdue .. I pretty much love watching any ND rivalry game. So much history.

Army/Navy - Just love watching the passion each team has when they go out there. The one game I watch and never really care about the score.

Michigan/OSU - Not my favorite rivalry, but I love watching it because something always seems to be on the line. I love history in football, and these two teams are the epitome of that, so it's always worth watching.

There are a whole bunch more too. Rivalries are what makes college football and you have to love them, whether you follow the teams or not.

ND vs USC
ND vs UM
ND vs MSU

I hate all three teams and love the history and tradition that comes with playing them every year.

Alabama v. Auburn

Can this rivalry get a little love? C'mon!

I didnt realize how big this rivalry was until I visited some family in Alabama a few years back. I mean it was July and all they could talk about was how much they hated Auburn.

MY TEAM - Florida State

Biggest Rivalry -

#1)Florida - This is obviously the most hated team that FSU plays all year. There is so much bad blood between these 2 teams it is ridiculous. You won't find a 'Nole fan that will say anything good about the Gators and vice versa.

#2)Miami - There is alot more respect in this game than any other team FSU plays. Every game seems to come down to the wire, with the majority of the time, being defensive battles.

#3)Clemson - Other than our 2 Florida rivals, this is the team most 'Nole fans get pumped up about playing.

#4)N.C. State - This isn't really a rivalry game, but given the fact that they seem to have our number, we tend to dislike them.

#5)Virginia - This just goes back to them being the 1st team to beat us in the ACC, along with the Jefferson-Eppes Trophy awarded to the annual winner.

This was more in the 80's but how 'bout

Miami vs Notre Dame

There was obviously no in-state hate that was brewed, but these programs were serious bruisers who hated eachother and always had so much on the line when they played.

Amen to that.

Great game that '88 matchup was!

Anyway, ND vs. Michigan, ND vs. USC are my teams' biggest rivals.

i wish we'd play Miami more. my dad had soooo many stories from that series...

Do you really? Can you honestly even remember the last time UF beat the Canes ? Hint: It was 1985's season opener and you were 2-3 yrs old. Sorry you had such a depressing childhood hearing your father's sob stories.

Deemed as Catholics vs. Convicts,

Also voted "the greatest victory in Notre Dame history" by a landslide.

Fans lost out big time when these teams ended their series. This was one of my absolute favorite games to watch. It's a damn shame.
