the guy is from Miami - http://www.nfl.com/draft/2002/profiles/davey_rohan.htm - would you take him ?

I would take him and so would this guy (http://nfl.kffl.com/features/nfl_draft/2002/reports/kgraff-qbs040502.shtml)

Rohan Davey | Louisiana State | 6-4 245 | 5.00 40 Time
Davey is one of our favorites. In our opinion, he has the skills to become one of the best QBs to come out of this class. He's still pretty raw and relies way too much on his rocket arm. When Davey learns to make better reads and if he can improve his footwork and feel for the pocket, his potential is unlimited.
Ranking: No. 35, 2nd Round.

and he was supposed to visit:

No

No thanks.

Tis all I need is another 6 months of ignorant jacka**es in forums and on supposedly respected sites saying Rohan would have a "legitimate" chance to unseat Jay even when he wouldn't have a chance in hell.

I'd like to go into one training camp without a word of QB controversy at all.

Unless if ESPN is mistaken, he is 7'1''.

Well I would guess it's a mistake when:

Negatives: Lacks size and strength at the point of attack and can't step up, shed and fill like scouts would like. Playing strength may always be a problem because of the way he is built (narrow without a good powerbase).

Summary: An active, instinctive and productive player who lacks size and must be protected by those in front of him to be effective.

Makes him sound more like 5'1" not 7'1"

There would be no controversy

Rohan needs time to develop...but this team seems to settle for mediocrity instead of aspiring to greatness. Davey has a shot at greatness down the road.

Take a chance.

Dave wants to make sure his picks make the roster. We have a solid starter, second stringer and third stringer at the moment. I really can't see us taking Davey.

#1 rule in greatness. You don't have more negatives then positives (from ESPN Profiles).

Positives: Very good leader who the team responds to. Has a big, thick, strong body and is hard to knock off his feet. Also is strong enough to throw with people clinging to him at times. Has a strong, NFL arm and at times will make some beautiful throws. Productive in 2001, his first year as a full-time starter. Showed he could take coaching and improved a great deal at the Senior Bowl.

Negatives: Tends to get too heavy. Showed up at the Senior Bowl weighing more than 250 pounds. Is not a quick, nimble player who can scramble out of trouble and throw with consistent accuracy on the move. Loses accuracy when he is forced outside the pocket. Has not been that durable in the past. Does not have an extensive football background or that much playing time, and his lack of experience shows. Lacks technique as a passer and at times lets his mechanics really go south on him. Uses numerous release points. Will hold on to the ball too long when he sees things he is not familiar with.

admitttedly, I seems unlikely, but it would mean that Lucas and Cade would have some serious challenge. There is no guarantee Jay stays healthy again.

Vote no on Davey! It just wouldn't make since. He wouldn't make the team. NFL teams only carry 3 qbs and I would much rather see what the first round talent Cade brings to the table after a couple years of learning the game.
