Last year prior to the combine there were a number of Mock Drafts that had Rey Maualuga going in the top 20 picks, some top 15. After a pedestrian combine and some re-evaluation he ended up falling all the way to the 6th pick of the 2nd round.

Having said that, if McClain runs a 4.7 or worse at his pro day, is he in for the same fall?

4.7 would be a great time for McClain. If he runs that, I don't think he gets past the Giants at 15. I see him running in the mid-to-high 4.8's. Even with a slow 40, he's absolutely worth considering in the 2nd. But, I don't see him falling to #43. I'll say that if we see someone like Kindle or Hughes there at 43 as well as McClain, my order of preference would be: Hughes, Kindle, McClain.

i hope so...

But Maualuga's issue was more his desire, maturity, discipline, etc... that helped his free fall, but if theres anyway we could get Mcclain in the 2nd round it would be the steal of the century... id even trade up in the 2nd round if he starts falling to get him...

hes head and shoulders ahead of Spikes on film, its not even close to me...

I don't think he's head and shoulders ahead of Spikes. Both are big; both are sluggish; both made big plays in college - Spikes made more big plays. I still like Spikes better for a M. Nolan D. But, you'd have to consider McClain in the 2nd. He won't be there. Multiple teams still have him in their top 32.

everyone has their opinion, mine is McClain is much better than spikes, hes quicker, hes a better tackler, hes got better instincts...

theres no way McClain will get out of the first round... i was just saying if by some miracle he fell to the 2nd we should do everything possible to get him... i still would take him in the first if some other people are off the board

McClain in the second is a draft day wet dream! If we don't take him at 12 the Giants will take him at 15.

BOOZE - he didn't think he had a prob but other teams did..., turns out those teams were right...

It's not going to happen. Just because some people on this board don't like McCLain doesn't mean anything. Anyone who watches tape knows he's going to be a very good pro, and no 40 yard dash is going to change that. As for Mauluga, he fell because of a drinking problem.

Multiple meaning all right?

no freaking way. like typing maybe suh will fall to #12.

There's no way McClain makes it past us. If McClain is sitting there at 12 you pick him up. don't try and be cute and trade down and hope he slides just draft the man he's going to be great.
