i was reading the sun sentinel and it said the phins were gonna met with bears offensive cordinator Ron Turner..the name sounds familiar but does any 1 have any insight into this guy...

Ron Turner was the HC at University of Illinois. He was instrumental in the development of Kurt Kittner. Not a good choice. Needs a few more seasons to be an HC. Ron Rivera is more of a possibility, but think about this, Rivera and Turner as coordinators with a HC such as Bates.

i thought that is where i recognized the name..i agree he is not ready to be head coach material...just thought i throw this name out there ...would any 1 have a problem with rex ryan becoming the head coach for the phins...

ur thinkin of norv turner

I would rather see us get a younger coach. Someone in their early 40's-45 years old. A more vigorous guy. Not a guy who has coached for many years and may be burned out.

Yes me, his schemes are very risky. He has the personell to do it with in Baltimore, but here in Miami his super blitzing might have some issues and give up alot of big plays. Still, Id take him over any retread or college coach, but Id rather any of the guys listed in my sig over Ryan.

i sure dont want bill cowher and i didnt mix up norv and ron turner lol

Norv and Ron are brothers, but I am sure that Ron was the coach in Illinois for about 6 years. No problem with Rex Ryan. I was thinking if you wait for Billick to lose in round 2, then you get Billick. He is a great coach!

ron did coach illinois..ron zook toke over for him after he was fired

Here are the Dolphins choices in my mind:

Cameron (offense and experience as a HC Indiana U for 6 years)

Martz (Enough said)

Rivera

Carroll ( Long shot, failure with Pats and Jets)

i love all your choices except i would throw in rex ryan instead of carroll..the choking incident still stays in my head these days and also for the fact he isnt leaving usc he has the # 1 recruiting class coming in and he has a sweet deal there if traitor nick is worth 32 million carroll must be worth 75 million for sure lol

Please Not Ron Turner.... or Carroll
Turner failed miserably as a coach at Illinois...and over rated as an offensive coordinator
Carroll is meant to be in the college game...just his excitement for his players etc.
I think Billick's job is safe...or should be safe for awhile
