Hey everyone. I found this article on cnnsi and thought it might be of interest. It talks about the top 10 players on "The hot seat" with their teams. JP Losman is also one of the players mentioned.

However, it talks about ronnie brown and how he has just a few more weeks to prove himself to be the starter when Ricky gets back. However, I have to disagree. I really think no matter how Brown does over the next few weeks him and Ricky will likely recieve equal playing time. I think that would be best because it will help ronnie catch up to the speed of the game and get used to being an nfl back. Plus, it would take some of the weight off his shoulers.

Thoughts??

Any article that says Randy Moss and Ladanian Tomlinson are on the hot seat loses all credibility. Yeah their teams are doing terrible, but that ain't their fault. Maybe someone should actually give LT some carriest or throw a few passes to him.

I'm sure all the people who drafted him in their fantasy leagues would like that too! :D

maan i dont know about that article... cmon they had randy moss on the hot seat and this is what it said...

Forget the Randy Moss vs. Terrell Owens storyline in Philly this weekend. More so than outperforming T.O., Moss needs to lead the Raiders to a victory. Sure, he leads the NFL with 257 receiving yards, but what good is that if Oakland can’t break into the win column?

haha so he leads the NFL in recieving but its his fault that oakland is losing? cmon the guy cant do everything...

yeah moss is pretty darn good. its not his fault they dont throw to him enough. i would throw to the guy on almost every play. it doesnt matter how many defenders are on him, he always comes down with the ball.

anyway, i think the article is mistitled if anything. I think its more of "players whose teams are desperate for them to step up." Seems more reasonable than On the Hot Seat. Tomlinson and Moss can carry their teams on their shoulders IMO.

Someone needs to tell SI what one the hot seat means. To me it means you are in danger of being cut. Richard Seymore, Randy Moss, Duece McAllister, Kevin Mawae? Hot seat? What a bad article.

The problem with this is it was tried and didn't really work. It seems good in theory but Minnesota showed that the "Randy Ratio" wasn't a success. Of course, maybe it was and their team was just that bad other than him. Look at them now.

i think brown and r. williams will do something similar to what brown and cadillac did at auburn. you'll see both of them on the field at the same time. brown will be in at FB, then he'll line up on the outside, or ricky will, or something, and defenses will be confused, etc. it's quite nice having both of those guys back there

Rickey should start because he's a great running back and he strikes fear in the hearts of our opponents and forces them to account for him in the defensive scheme. With Rickey in there running the ball there will be better chances for Gus to open up the passing game. I see Rickey and Ronnie playing together in the backfield on third downs etc. That's alot of talent to contend with and I can't wait to see that when Rickeys' back. By then I expect Ronnie to be playing at a much higher level than what we've seen so far. Ronnie will also get like 15 -20 carries per game spelling Rickey. As far as the hot seat I fully agree that he should be on it for now along with guys like Losman, who I think stinks so far, but I see Ronnie getting up to speed pretty darn fast. By the time Rickey is back Ronnie will be where we need him to be giving us some very strong running backs. I just hope that we're at least 2-2 upon Rickeys' return.

Only a moron would bench or cut Randy Moss. So it will probably happen by the bye week...

I didn't know Rick Spielman was the GM in Oakland. :rofl3:

check the top 10 NFL WRs link on the left...

They have Moss at #7 and TO at #6???

kinda lost any credibility with me..

maybe having a first-and-goal with a timeout and no antonio gates would signal to the coach that he should at least get LT one touch! fantasy league or not, what is marty thinking there? don't get the ball in the hands of my best player?
