Four years, 3,433 yards, 23 touchdowns, 137 receptions, 1,151 yards receiving, a pro bowl berth, and a whole lot of ***-kicking later, Ronnie Brown might be preparing for his last year as a Miami Dolphin.

Yes, another UPS, the United Parcells Service might be getting ready to send Ronnie Brown packing at the end of the season.

Ronnie Brown's contract expires at the conclusion of the 2009 season, and the team might be willing to part with the all-pro.

I will be sad to see him go, but I really think Ronnie is gone after this season. Thoughts?

Also, if you like the article, please leave a comment on the blog, thanks!

The end is coming!!!!!!!!! NO DONT GO!!! WE LOVE YOU MAN.... dude seriously we need to go to super bowl this year.

Well, if he doesen't get it done this season, then he probably never will. But he is definitely one of my favorite players and I would HATE to see him go. I'd hope he'd be willing to resign for less if that's what it came down to, but I don't know how he looks at money.

i would love for him to stay but if he goes nothing we can do about it

Every time people doubt Ronnie he ends up shining. Contract year. What could happen is Ronnie has huge year, we let him go to get extra pick or two or franchise him, which is doubtful but could happen.

the only reason i feel why he could leave, is because he'd ask too much money and ireland /parcells are known to be cheap when it comes to running backs...

on the other hand, ronnie brown has already made a brickload of money in his career, and he's invested it very wisely in SF banks. There was an article awhile ago talking about how much he's investing his time in banking and doing PR in this business...

a guy with that money, mixed with all those relations in SF, might make him want to stay in miami for a little less money than he could get elsewhere and end his career as a dolphin and continue to build his legacy here...

BTW, this article is total crap, it's just one's opinion so it shouldn't be taken for anything more, much like the post i just made... food for thought like some would say

one man's opinion........

I respectfully disagree.

I don't want him to leave either, but noting the way Parcells and his crew do business, do you really see them throwing down tons of cash down for a 29 year old RB? I just can't envision many scenarios where this would happen... Maybe if Ronnie gives Miami a discount, but I am sure there will be tons of teams throwing cash at him.

If Ronnie has a huge year but wants too big a contract for the FO's taste, I wouldn't be surprised if they franchise him so we'll have him for at least another year. This of course depends on who else we might look at franchising...

Bill Parcells and his crew never liked to draft ofensive lineman in the first round of the draft at one point in time either. That changed in 2008 with Jake Long. For the right person, this regime can make exceptions to the rule. Also, this coaching staff like guys that can do a lot of "jobs." Ronnie's biggest asset without question is his versatility. He can run, catch, block, and throw a pass occasionally as a Wildcat quarterback.

Another main point. Dude runs the wildcat very very well. Just saw my taped replay of NFLN KC game, dude can run that thing on a moments notice. Regardless of how well Pat White does in WC, Ronnie will still be a huge part of that. And based on draft, I dont think this regime plans on unloading that any time soon. But that also might make a team want to invest franchise-like picks for him if they see themselves using more of the WC like more will soon.

may i add, to what i just wrote, that parcells never got rid of a runningback when he didn't have a plan B capable of starting at RB for 16 games...

take julius jones and marion barber for example... he didn't resign jones because he knew just how good barber was.
Right now we have R.Williams and P.Cobbs behind brown, there's no reason to let the guy go when i watch those two IMO (they're fairly good, but there's no way in hell i'm going into the 2010 season with cobbs, williams and a rookie as my runningbacks, except maybe if they're thinking about a first rounder, but history tells us they don't do that !)
