Is there any word on how long this guy might holdout? I truly believe he is a necessity for the Phins to have if they are going too make some noise this year. Being up here in Buffalo, I don't hear to much about his contract progress...Thanks!

I don't know, but I am disappointed in the guy. Those who have a true passion for the game (Cadillac Williams) will pressure their agents to get the deal done. Brown seems a little to aloof for my taste. Don't forget, the agent works for RB, not the other way around.
Even Maurice Clarett turned down guaranteed money so that he could get a heavily incentive laden contract that would pay him like a 1st rounder if he performs well. I'm not suggesting that RB do that, but at least Clarett is looking forward to prove himself.

It seems Benson is the same way...why are these guys not in camp? They are throwing away opportunities to start right from the beginning and now they'll have to fight there @$$es off to start!

That's good and all...But you're comparing the #2 overall pick to a 4th rounder.

No I'm not. Read the post again. Clarett could have signed a 4th rounder deal, but instead chose a hit or miss contract. You have to respect that about the guy.
Cadillac pressure his agent to sign with the Bucs, so that he could be available for the start of TC.

Crisis, being a fellow Bills fan, I feel that I should be the one to correct you. Clarett was a 3rd rounder, not a 4th rounder...just an FYI.

Clarette doesn't have the leverage that Ronnie Brown does. A 4th rounder holding out = end of his career.

Ronnie is trying to get guaranteed money. If you were in his position, you'd do the same.

The NFL is a business.

Irrelevant, but you still have to respect the guy.

My bad. 3rd round compen. pick. Thanks for the correction

Oh well, he still sucks.

Hey, just making that clear...I'm on your side of this argument. Guys, no matter where they are drafted, should be in camp on time.

He's has been offered guaranteed money, to the tune of 19 million. Again, Cadillac Williams had his agent get it done (I live near Disney World-near Bucs TC). He wanted desperately to get to TC on time.
That's where I draw the comparison. RB doesn't seem to give a darn. He is perfectly entitled to do that, but it is not always the standard. Many players are passionate and can't wait to mix it up. Those players exert pressure on their agents. Waiting for Braylon Edwards and Cedric Benson to sign is a cop out. Usually you wait for the higher picked player (Alex Smith) to sign. There is no excuse now.

Everyday he sits out, the less valuable he is to us this season.

Cadillac got a 15% raise over what the 5th pick received last year. That's why his deal got done.

Ronnie Brown absolutely should not sign unless he gets at least a 15% raise over last year's #2 pick.

r.brown better get in camp soon if he has any chance of starting on opening day he needs all the practice he can get he is a rookie.......
