He's just one unlucky guy. His injuries have had nothing to do with lack of training, nothing to do with lack of precaution. Take a look at his injuries: Broken Finger, Torn ACL, and now what looks to be either a broken thumb or jammed thumb. (which will heal before the season even if broke)

When you talk about 'injury prone' backs, your talking about what Fred Taylor used to be. Guys with knees of 80 yr old men who literally couldn't make it through 16 games because their bodies just wouldn't allow it. That's not Ronnie.

Everyone of Ronnies injuries have been freak injuries. He broke his finger running the ball and probably smashed it on an opposing players helmet against Detroit. That was an unavoidable injury that could have happened to anyone. The torn ACL last year against the Pats, again, Ronnie tried making a tackle and his leg went out. There's NO WAY to avoid an ACL tear except to not bend the way he did, which wasn't his fault. (Blame Cleo) And now the injury against the jags, well, I personally don't even believe it's an injury. I think the coaching staff was just being extra cautious.

Ronnies not injury prone, he's just unlucky. Continually in the wrong place at the wrong time so far. Of course, you know if he was on another team he'd never miss a game, cause it just seems to work out that way.

EDIT:
Also, it really bothers me that Ricky isn't being considered injury prone, or at least an injury risk. How soon we all forget that HE had a season ending injury last year too. And it only took him 6 carries!

Do I actually believe Ricky is injury prone? No. But thats proof that all it takes is one freak accident to occur on the field to get a great player injured. I guess it just bothers me that people are looking at Ronnie like a walking trainwreck and Ricky a train. This is football, all it takes is one play to knock anyone out of the game.

Once is an anomoly, twice is a trend, three times is a pattern. He is injury prone and that's been proven throughout his years in the league. Not saying he's not talented or he won't play well but he's injury prone as hell. That being said it's just a finger so it's not that big of a deal.

I'll bet every injury prone player, feels like he is unlucky......

yeah I think he is injury prone, he has been hurt every year. first year hand, second year knee so far this year thumb....if he can stay healthy he can be great

Amazed and frankly appalled by some of the comments on this forum re Ronnie. I remember well this time last year the anti-Brown brigade (who this year must have been the anti-Beck brigade) sticking the boot in - now that Beck is gone looks like they are back to their old form. Totally agree with the leading comment here - these injuries have nothing to do with Brown's physical condition or anything that he could realistically have done.

On the the hand, Ricky's frequent absences from the field have everything to do with Ricky.

he's injury prone.

don't spin it any other way

Last year was unfortunate with the ACL, but before that I dont think you could call him injury prone.
He played 13 games his first year. 15 his 2nd year. thats not bad -- whats the average #games played by a starting RB in the league??

This is everything you need to know about Ronnie Brown.

The point that is trying to made is that Ronnie Brown does not have persistant/nagging injuries in the same area. Ronnie Brown does get injured quite abit but he is NOT prone to one constant injury.

For anyone who has ever played sports they will know that re-occuring injuries are by far the worst you can get because they affect you mentally as you are constantly thinking about them while on the field and also you can never really get totally fit either because the injury always flares up.

Ronnie Brown as far as I know does not suffer from those injuries.

Yep, here it comes. Tell me brain trust, who is next on the chopping block for you after Ronnie Brown? I'm willing to bet it's Joey Porter.

ESPN.com said:
Brown, who injured his thumb late in the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game, said that he could have returned for the second half had it been a regular-season game, the Palm Beach Post reports. (Aug 17)

What a life-threatening injury. Someone should have taken him out back and put him out of his misery. :rolleyes2:

I'd say injury prone is when you hurt one knee, rehabilitate it and then hurt the other. Wasn't it Jamal Anderson that did that? To me, that's injury prone. there are linemen that play with broken fingers etc. all the time.
