He's just one unlucky guy. His injuries have had nothing to do with lack of training, nothing to do with lack of precaution. Take a look at his injuries: Broken Finger, Torn ACL, and now what looks to be either a broken thumb or jammed thumb. (which will heal before the season even if broke)
When you talk about 'injury prone' backs, your talking about what Fred Taylor used to be. Guys with knees of 80 yr old men who literally couldn't make it through 16 games because their bodies just wouldn't allow it. That's not Ronnie.
Everyone of Ronnies injuries have been freak injuries. He broke his finger running the ball and probably smashed it on an opposing players helmet against Detroit. That was an unavoidable injury that could have happened to anyone. The torn ACL last year against the Pats, again, Ronnie tried making a tackle and his leg went out. There's NO WAY to avoid an ACL tear except to not bend the way he did, which wasn't his fault. (Blame Cleo) And now the injury against the jags, well, I personally don't even believe it's an injury. I think the coaching staff was just being extra cautious.
Ronnies not injury prone, he's just unlucky. Continually in the wrong place at the wrong time so far. Of course, you know if he was on another team he'd never miss a game, cause it just seems to work out that way.
EDIT:
Also, it really bothers me that Ricky isn't being considered injury prone, or at least an injury risk. How soon we all forget that HE had a season ending injury last year too. And it only took him 6 carries!
Do I actually believe Ricky is injury prone? No. But thats proof that all it takes is one freak accident to occur on the field to get a great player injured. I guess it just bothers me that people are looking at Ronnie like a walking trainwreck and Ricky a train. This is football, all it takes is one play to knock anyone out of the game.
