This is not intended to be a bash fest, but what the hell is going on with Ronnie and his inability to burst through open holes when he has the ball? The routine looks like a scene out of a dance-off: do a balet move to the left, a two step to the right, jog to the hole and then accelerate... by the time he gets going the entire d is ready for him. compare him to Parker who bursted through every seam he saw and it is becoming obvious to me that an undrafted rb with good vision and.speed may be better than a combine freak with limited field vision... I like Ronnie. but he isn't proving to be worthy of a 2 pick

In order to burst through holes like Parker there needs to be holes first. There's a reason Pittsburgh is one of the best in the NFL against the run. I actually thought Ronnie made some nifty moves just to get the few yards that he did.

Hey buddy why dont ya get out there and show him how its done??

wow...some people just don't get it...

r. brown was getting tackled as soon as he got the hand off in some plays...he had no where to run...he turned negative plays into positive plays because he's a beast...our o-line couldn't run block at all last night..did you watch the same game I did?

Go Fins!!!

He's right about Ronnie not recognizing the hole. I saw open holes--not GAPING ones, but I tell you what, Ricky Williams would have had at least 80-90 yards rushing that game. There were holes to be had, but Ronnie lacks the field vision or perhaps (being hopeful) the experience to see them.

:sidelol:

you guys are so funny.

Ahhh....Good stuff man.

OMG. There were no holes, by the time Ronnie got the hand off 2-3 Steelersbroke threw the line.

an open holr in football isn't obvious for a minute. There were plenty last night. Heck even the critical 4Th quarter toss had an open seam but Ronnie didn't get going untill the d had him surrounded. Dante had plenty of time to throw last night the o line did just fine

You are correct in your observation they were there, but how do you know that he wasnt hitting the holes because he knew as soon as he did the D would be on him? I think he was looking at the D's position over the holes trying to make plays. I think he has great vision.

pep sucks...ronnie isnt worth a draft pick..jason is a bust..the o-line is horrible

after last night, we just should play along with everyone else..letting people know its just the first game isnt cutting it

I didn't see many holes at all, but I think Ronnie will get even better with experience. He's got a fantastic work ethic and will be the best player he can be.

Plus getting tackled as soon as you get the handoff doesn't exactly help your field vision either.

An NFL running back can't think like that "the D will be on me as soon as a hit the hole." He has to hit the hole as fast as possible and get what he can. He can't sit back and wait for the perfect situation, he has to take the yardage he can get, even if it's only 2-3 yards.

Not intended to bash??? Is that your polite way of saying that Ronnie sucked last night?

Remember back in 2003 when Ricky Williams couldnt seem to do anything? Well, was that because he lost his ability to find holes? Or was it because his RUN BLOCKING SUCKED? Hmmmm...
