http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/2007/05/dolphins-reconstructing-brownvsricky290507.html Despite having significantly fewer total carries (448 to 501), Brown bested Williams in virtually every significant statistical category. He accumulated more yardage, sported a vastly superior yards per carry average, fumbled the ball less often, and had just one fewer touchdown. In addition, Brown's longest runs from scrimmage (65 and 47 yards) dwarf Williams' (26 and 25 yards). Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Brown proved to be more durable than Williams, missing just three games in his first two seasons (Williams missed 10).

So essentially, it is Brown who has proven to be more shiftier, tougher and more of a breakaway ronnie is the man

Nice write up but did we really need to start another Ricky vs Ronnie thread?

Clearly, Williams' breakout season in 2002 has left a lasting impression on Miami's fans. So much so, in fact, that many seem willing to overlook a comprehensively pedestrian 2003 campaign that saw Williams gain just 1,372 yards on 392 carries (3.5 yards per rush). Williams' supporters will point out that his struggles in '03 can be traced to a vastly undermanned offensive line, but somehow, Brown doesn't get the same pass. Something just doesn't add up here.

Those are are also the same people saying C-pepp only had one great season and Ricky only had one great season as well.

sorry for a new thread, just sharing a new article, i guess you can merge or delete it mods

No need to be sorry. I enjoyed the article. It's just that there has been so much debate about these two that it gets kinda...old.

Ronnie is only going to get better.
BTW, where are all those people who claimed Cadillac was better than Ronnie??? What a crock!

Phinsfan, listen carefully. This thread is a moot point, but since you brought it up I will respond. I agree with you that RB is better than RW. My reason differs, though. He's better because he's currently on the Dolphins roster!!! Bless RB's heart, he doesn't have the talent RW has. How many games did Ricky miss when he was playing with the Dolphins? How many big plays did he make in those first two years? All that is BS because he's gone and RB is here, now.

Ricky isn't part of the equation anymore, so while I appreciate the research this is about as topical as a Joe Brown v. Reggie Bush thread.

maybe your better off on another board thats not dolphin related

Excellent counterpoint! So, having completely failed to address what I said in my earlier post, any more off-topic posts you'd like to make?

Ronnie is also a better running back than Reggie Bush is ... also a #2 overall pick. Ronnie's rushing yards and ypc are clearly better. What I don't know is whether or not Reggie Bush will be a running back or a receiver. Supposedly, Reggie is a running back.

Ronnie came in 2nd for Rookie of the Year in 2005. Reggie Bush didn't do that last year in his rookie year ... he was like 4th I think.
