okay so Ronnie had 32 rec. for 232 yards and 1 TD ( u remember that 1)
(15 games most sharing time with Ricky)
Ricky had 17 rec. for 93 yards
Sammy had 8 rec. for 54 yards

What do you figure Ronnie's recieving totals will be this upcoming season ?
I would have to say atleast 50 rec. for 450 yards and 3 Tds... and that would be easy.

I'm not sure but I don't think Daunte likes duping off to his backs very much. I don't care what he has receiving anyway as long as he gets 1800 rushing yards.

I think those numbers are fair. Daunte must be salivating at all the targets he will have this year... Chambers, Booker, Hagan, McMichael, Ronnie... we have so many guys that have great hands. Not to mention Beasley has put up some fairly respectable recieving numbers over the years as well...

just imagine the possibilities with our WRs stretching the field, Daunte buying time with his feet, and Ronnie breaking off big gains from lil dump offs. Ronnie will excel in this area i bet..... I'm just curious as to how often we would throw it his way with Mularkey callin the plays.

Don't see that happening. Everyone said he was a great pass catching RB, well......... Let's see it? In the offense we run, Ronnie's so-called pass catching skills will always be under utilized. He's no Marshall Faulk.

He should have somewhere in that area. I like the idea of being to spread the ball around more this year. Daunte has a nice amount of options to get the ball to and his running ability if he has that aspect of his game after the injury makes our offense have great potential.

A very good power blocking o-line and a big, fast versatile back who can catch and block as well as power his way, a very good all around FB to lead the way. The only thing we lack is good pass blocking on our line but hoping that coaching can make up for that.
This year should be a big step up for and have a playoff run us but I truly believe next year we will be great and a top team vying for the Super Bowl.:dolphins:

I say around 420 yard receiving. Don't exactly know how many receptions, but I say two touch downs.

Yea i would say 350-425
Vick is gonna get around 50 yards hahah

500 yards isn't out of the question, especially if he gets a real long reception. 3 tds sounds right too. Ronnie has a great set of hands.

I would tend to agree with that

Nah he ain't no Marshall Faulk, they are 2 different backs completely (one is a power back with 4.4. speed and the other is possibly one of the shiftiest and greatest backs in NFL history). . however he does have fantastic hands when it comes to receiving the ball and I think w/ this offense we will run this year, they wont be under utilized at all, I definetly think 50 + receptions and 420+ yards receiving are in reach.

great thread. i didnt htink he had that many receptions. i knew he was a dual threat. Im guessing 500 yards and 2 TDs from culp, the other 17 TDs will be on the ground:evil:

It's true about Faulk - but Faulk gets 80+ when he's healthy.

Look at the stats - if Brown had played the full season last year, without Ricky these #'s are just about what he would have gotten if he hadn't split time.

Also, someone noted that Culpepper doesn't throw to backs? This is simply not true. Generally, Minnesota's backs didn't get a lot of catches b/c they often split time between 3-4 backs (Bennett, Moore, Smith, Moe Williams). Even at that, Moe Williams got 65 catches one year!

50 catches is not at all out of the question. It really is all on the calls the coordinator makes and what the defense gives us. But, throwing to the back can be very effective.

And alot depends on if they keep him in as a blocker since he looks like a very good blocking RB from the games I watched on tape from last season. He'll only get better at blocking and catching. I watched him make some great catches last season too so I can't wait to see him play RB for us full-time.

It says it in the Prisco article, that Daunte was in an offense in Minnesota that wanted him to go to Moss specifacally on most downs and he didn't have many plays where he got to throw to his favorite or "choice" match-up. And also he was in an offense where the pass set up the run. Now he's in an offense where it is the opposite and Mularkey likes a few "gadget" plays also, so it will be very interesting and exciting to watch this offense come together under Mularkey and his main weapons: Culpepper, Brown, Chambers, Booker, and McMichael. If Campbell, Welker, or Hagan can come up as one of those daggers that come out of nowhere to deliver the knockout, surprise TD that will be awesome. And our redzone offense is going to be so unpredictable with so many options it's going to be scary. As long as our defense can get our offense on the field and our offense can keep them fresh with both long, tough drives and quick strike TD's we will finally have an offense worth watching. These past few seasons I've almost broken many remotes, flashlights, and other close-by objects because of so many 3 and outs. So here's to saving things I use this next season!

I trust Miami's coaches to use Brown to his full, productive extent, without running him into the ground like our past coach. I think with so many options, under-utilizing Brown will be more probable than the opposite. I think the other carries will be distributed usefully between Morris, Minor, and the surprise of the season being Kay-Jay Harris or Gerald Riggs, Jr. I have a good feeling about both of those guys. Another proven back like Michael Bennett would be nice but that luxury is not worth a 3rd round pick. Memories of the Lamar Gordon trade still haunt me. If we can't find a good RB through FA than we should enter the season with what we've got and let the coaches work their magic with superior game-planning and the players need to xecute to their full extent; Something a Dolphins' offense hasn't done consistently since I was in elementary school.

If the Patriots won a Super Bowl with Antwoin Smith than we shouldn't feel discounted if we have to make due with Ronnie's back-ups.
