OK, I'm usually all over the news and never miss anything, but the fact that Ronnie has/had a bruised shoulder and was listed as injured totally escaped me. Apparently it was NOT severe but there is a brief article on it:
Dolphins RB Brown expected to start at Jets
NFL.com wire reports
DAVIE, Fla. (Sept. 16, 2005) -- Ronnie Brown 's shoulder will be ready for his first road test in the NFL.
Brown, the second overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in this year's draft, said that his achy left shoulder is fit and ready for the matchup at the New York Jets -- which will mark the first time he plays before an unfriendly NFL crowd.
"I'm excited about getting to go on the road," said Brown, who's listed as probable on Miami's injury report, but expected to start against the Jets. "I've heard how much of a rivalry this game is."
Brown had 57 yards on 22 carries in his debut, when the Dolphins beat the Denver Broncos 34-10. He's worn a red shirt -- given to a player excused from contact during practice -- at times this week to protect the shoulder, but expects no trouble against the Jets.
"It's really good," Brown said. "We came out and got a victory, so obviously that felt pretty good. ... To go ahead and get it out of the way and kind of see the tempo and see how things work, that's a little different and now I'm a little bit more comfortable about being in the situation."
Selected by the Dolphins before Ricky Williams decided to end his retirement and return to Miami, Brown is being counted on to anchor the running game while Williams serves a suspension for violating the league's drug policy.
