Watching the Arizona/Atlanta game is reminding me why the Ravens should be worried about having a rookie QB in the play-offs.
Hes not doing terrible per-say, but he's definitely not wowing me.

"Matty Ice" isn't exactly living up to his namesake today. Of course, the Cardinals defense has had their way with Michael Turner today.

I agree, it's kinda the way I see the ravens game going. Our defense is much more capable at disguising coverage, and blitz packages. Hopefully we have much more success....

matt ryan is playing pretty well after starting pretty bad, but ryan is not really a rookie hasn't played like one all season. Joe Flacco has had his ups and downs he will struggle under pressure

He's playing like a rookie now.

And I expect the same out of Falco tomorrow.

Yup, Matt Ryan has kept his cool ALL season, and I don't care how loud the crowd was in regular season, the atmosphere and knowing what's on the line in the playoffs is enough to crumble a rookie QB as we're seeing here

Ryan has not changed his snap count at ALL all day and the Cardinals have been getting a jump on basically every play

Amazin how avg Mr. Wonderful looks without a rushing attack. But lets ignore the fact, cause some people love their Matty woodies.

I think this is the main reason why ESPN's John Clayton picked us over the Ravens. Rookie QB's have a hard time winning their first playoff game. I know the Ravens have a great defense, but I think Chad Pennington has been through a lot of big games, so I like our chances.

Really? Baltimore has a much better defense. The Falcons have depended on Ryan to win games this year whereas Flacco hasn't had to wins games by himself. Neither of these teams would've gone far because you quite simply need a defense to win in the playoffs.

The problem with that argument is that it's not Pennington vs. Flacco, it's Miami vs. Baltimore. The Ravens depend on their defense and running game before Flacco.

I will admit Matt Ryan has played pretty well this year but it goes to show how much a good running game helps a rookie QB. Without that running game and Atlanta would have won maybe half their games this year.

My issues with Ryan are he floats his passes to the sidelines. His arm is not very strong and he seems to lob the ball more than he should.

Exactly. It was just poor coaching by the Falcons, they tried to use the pass to set up the run which was just an unbelievably poor decision. Not only do you not put a rookie in that position, but even a veteran quarterback would have had a tough time trying to do that.

true lets ignore that the Atlanta oline has been getting pulverized and Matt was still pretty damn cooloverall.
