ryan williams and mikel leshoure are both out with season ending injuries. lets hope Thomas can stay healthy and contribute. Im glad we took him. Hes a big back who can make plays. He has a nice burst and good vision. Once he settles down a little more, i think he will be very productive.

I think alot of the injuries to first and second year players has alot to do with the shortened off season, no ota's, etc... these guys know they have to come in and make a spalash to earn a roster spot over a vet in a month. If you push your body to the limit for an extended period of time without being physically ready to do so, you tear your tendons and ligaments to pieces.

I think there are already 5 young starting running backs out for the season.

This is one reason i say keep R Bush away from returning punts and kick offs.

We need the big plays on returns and we need big plays from him as a running back. I've also noticed that C Gates is being used as a #1 or #2 WR. That to me shows that our coaches feel that he is a good WR when you consider his speed and quickness. Now he needs reps and coaching. I do not remember Ted Ginn being in the WR mix so soon.

I'm a little surprised when a few posters said that finding someone good for returns is not important.

Not only does this team need big plays from their returners. But if we can find and use a player who is also the 5th running back or 6th WR, it releases any of the starters from this duty.

I did see a few overthrown passes to Gates but to say he's being used as a #1 or #2 is just absurd
