Ross said he spoke to Parcells about Campbell and Campbell is candidate for permanent job.
Ross: Dan Campbell certainly is a candidate for the permanent job. I talked to coaches he has played under and I spoke to Bill Parcells.

"I knew if I had to make a decision to do something I saw someone in Dan Campbell who I thought would be a great replacement," Ross said.

Ross via phone: I believe in this team. But we are not improving. I see the same old same old. My goal is still to make playoffs #Dolphins

Ross: Thought of coaching change first appeared after Buffalo game.
Says 1st Quarters have been abysmal
Ross: We should've beaten Jacksonville. Started thinking about change after Buffalo game. But gave Philbin a chance to win in London

"I owed it to the fans, & myself. I built organizations. I run organizations. I wanted to be best in class, and I didn't see it happening."

Ross not going to second-guess decision to bring back Philbin this season. That's easy to do now.
Ross: i may be accussed of having too much loyalty
"Not a fan out there who wants to win more than I do. I put my money where my mouth is," Dolphins owner Steve Ross said.

Ross said it's possible everyone might have overestimated roster but he believes in the talent.

"You are always looking, always have contingency plans in the back of your mind....I've observed & talked to people on our staff," Ross

"I believe at this point in time that it was time to replace at the top," Dolphins owner Steve Ross.

"I don't believe that anybody really laid down because they didn't believe in Joe Philbin," Steve Ross said.

Ross said he didn't consider firing coordinators instead. "I believed it was time to replace at the top."

Should have never given him an extension, doofus.

Who gives a sh** what Ross says. Hopefully, he has stumbled into a good hire.

Of course the owners gonna say hes a permanent candidate...hed be dumb not to say it

Better demand some personnel changes ross if you think this team has any chance at playoffs

Good luck dan campbell...i hope you arent a status quo guy

its ironic that he got the usual "can't be a lame-duck" extension, and the team regarded him as the lamest duck

He said he started considering a coaching change after the Buffalo game. "We won the first game, didn't look good. Jacksonville, a team we should have beaten - we outplayed them but didn't look good at all. Seeing same type of performance, we had to get off to a fast start. Our first quarters, the best way to call them, would be abysmal. There was a lot of the same type of play by the team. I felt I owed it to the fans, I run organizations, to be best in class, and I didn't see that happening."

### Did he overestimate the roster? "That could be. We'll find out if I did or didn't. With the salary cap, there is no such thing as having a perfect roster. We have a lot of great players on our team. We know what our weaknesses are but thought we could overcome those weaknesses. I didn't see development happening.

"In retrospect, sure. I didn't believe it then. Of course the answer is if you knew something then, you should have acted on it. I may be accused of having too much loyalty. I felt we had the right people in place. I bought this team to win. That's my obligation to the community. I'm a steward of this team. I don't think anyone out there wants to win more than I do.

"I have always observed, talked to people about our staff. While I never spent a lot of time with Dan, I've spoken to people."

This really concerned me. Can't we get this guy's stench out of this team? Jesus!
Everyone is praising Campbell, his "fire", "trenches", "game is won on the LOS" and so on. What's the difference from him ans Sparano?
Or am I being too critical of a good promotion because of my anti-Parcells bias?

Ross is NOT going to sell the team so we have to hope he's learned enough at this point to make some good basic decisions.

Listening to Campbell's presser -- what a breathe of fresh air!

Too early to say anything for sure -- but it definitely looks like a big step in the right direction.

We'll know more if (a) Campbell fires Coyle with 24-36 hours and (2) makes a few "aggressive" roster moves in the next week to 10 days.

By aggressive, I mean kicking 2 or 3 players to the curb that might not be expected. I fully expect Campbell will want to FIRMLY ASSERT his dominance in a rather "smack in the mouth" way.

Certainly expect "Manhattan" to be flushed out to sea. And some immediate shake up on the OL -- with probably some of the above kick-to-the-curb action.

Right now this dude reminds me of a young Bill Cowher! Of course, MUCH to be proven.

Ross can say whatever but unless campbell does an amazing job he is nothing but intrim

PARCELLS? Haha that ****ing goof got us a cornfed injury prone linemen over top 10 matt ryan and drafted pat white in the damn second round

lets just see how we do with Campbell from here on till the end of the 2015 season. then we will see whats available and best for Miami for 2016 and future!!!
