What makes an owner a good owner? Well, it's nice, if everybody loves the owner as a person or if he has a big football-name, but this is not often the case. So the most thing the fans can hope for, that he is willing to spend all the cap-money, which is possible. Ross will do that. Forget the Harbaugh-case. That wasn't perfect, but at least he tried and had the right instinct/informations, that harbaugh will be a good coach.
So, Ross isn't so bad.

If i see Ireland in interviews, i personaly don't like him.
But: Signing Marshall, Dansby and Bush were great trades! The draft wasn't bad either.

I think: The outcome of the work of Ross & Ireland are not so bad as most people say.
I know this post won't be very popular, but look at the facts without emotions.

Now people are saying in the Manning-case: We have the better team than Denver, cause we have a great Defense and O-Line, Marshall & Bush. But Ireland/Ross are one big reason, why we are not so bad right now...

Sure, we need a Franchise-QB since 20 years. Everybody knows that. Our Front-Office knows it too. But it's not easy to get one. Luck & RGIII would be nice, but it wasn't possible to get them (or to a very, very high price). To go now all-in for an old and hurted Manning? i don't know.

I wait since 25-year for a SuperBowl, so it's no problem to wait 4-5 more years. Trade down, get a second 1-st-round-pick in 2013. Then you have all the options in next years draft to move up, or collect even more picks for 2014. Miami isn't anymore one of the hot-spots in the NFL. That is sad, but the truth. So you have to build up with patience. What isn't easy in a glamour city like Miami...

Sorry for my broken English, i'm from Germany - but still watching all most every Dolphins-game since 25 years via video, pay-TV and NFL-pass.

I can appreciate your position, and you are correct about Ireland. He has done a good job since getting full control. The Colombo thing was kind of a head scratcher though. It is kind of hard for me to type that(good job) since he a jackass. Ross has acted impulsively and made some stupid statements. He is keeping his comments to a minimum in this go-around. We will see what happens. Any way it turns out, we will latch onto our next QB(whoever it is) and hope the ownership, coaches and Ireland get it right. It is nice to know we have Fin fans in Germany.

Good post. Admittedly patience is not our strong suit in the US generally, and definitely not in our sports. Most on this board will probably tell you that we have been patient enough and are overdue to return to some semblance dignity and respect in the NFL.

Our team is on the verge, but need a franchise QB to solidify things.

I did not have a problem with Columbo being signed as he provided good depth as a swing tackle. My problem was that when he showed himself to be worthless, Sparano kept running him out there every game instead of starting Jerry, Murtha or putting
Carey back there.

How do you start Murtha when I believe he was injured ALL 16 GAMES
