Roster Move Allen To Ir Smith Returns

The Dolphins have lost a fourth player to a season-ending injury.

Linebacker Chase Allen was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury that has worsened recently, according to a source. He played one defensive snap on Sunday against Chicago.

The Dolphins promoted safety Maurice Smith to fill Allen’s spot on the 53-man roster.

Allen isn’t yet sure if surgery will be required, according to a source.

Allen played well in preseason and had emerged as Miami’s No. 4 linebacker.

Without him, Stephone Anthony and Martrell Spaight will be the team’s backup linebackers behind Kiko Alonso, Raekwon McMillan and Jerome Baker.

This Anthony kid is a mystery to me. Supposed to be a good player / drafted high. What gives? The other guy is the one that got the taunting penalty / special teams player nothing more.
 
Seems like every week we lose at least one guy to a serious injury. It sucks. We basically have zero depth at LB now.
 
Would be nice to keep investing some late picks at LB for the next few years.

Churn the bottom and maybe land a surprise.

Spaight and Anthony as depth makes me sad.
 
i know injuries happen. but this offseason the strength and conditioning teams and medical staff needs a clear overhaul. wtf. they are a disaster.
 
What's up with our training staff? Seems like there has been an uptick in injury in our teams since Gase took over...
