I would love to see Miami make a roster move near the end of the season, if it isn't too late and he gets called up to the 53. The roster move that I would like to see is, Miami cut Shelly Smith or Lowell Rose (neither are getting much playing time currently) and pick up Connor Shaw off of the Cleveland Browns practice squad. He would have to stay on the 53 man roster for at least 4 weeks, doesn't mean that he would have to come into a game, Matt Moore knows the offense better. Connor played a read/option offense in South Carolina and excelled in it. He could get on the 53 man roster at the end of this year (barring a move up from the Browns) and he and Matt Moore could compete next year for the back-up quarterback spot during training camp.

I like Matt Moore as a back-up quarterback, but I don't think he really fits this new style of offense. I also don't think that this offense would miss a beat with Connor Shaw as the back-up.

What do you all think?

Conner Shaw...another great NFL QB produced by Steve Spurrier. They are many in the NFL. Danny Wuerffel may have been my favorite...he was great as a Redskin.

I'll pass.

Truth, I can understand your apprehension, but I just feel that he was a better quarterback then Wuerffel and Grossman, just my opinion. I just thought that he played really well at SC and would be a good back-up to Tannehill. I don't want him to be the starter.

I know there are some on here that like Shaw...Omar Kelly has mentioned him as well (does that make you nervous lol) but I don't think he's a good QB. Physically I think he solid...mentally not so much...mechanical issues he has I think can mostly be worked out with coaching and repetition but there are too many instances where he makes the absolute worst decisions. You just can't fix stupid.

Well....

Why cut Shelley Smith? The guy is making chump change and is decent depth for his price.

Moore is a FA next year and likely does not come back to the Fins unless he likes the backup QB spot. Moore is good enough to start on a handful of teams (Jets, Texans, Bucs) and someone will pay him to come in and compete.

Jets will probably draft Jamies Winston.
Texans will be starting Ryan Mallet this week so I guess the rest of this year will be his tryout.
Bucs...still don't see Lovie ever drafting a QB.

The interesting thing will be what does Cleveland do with Hoyer. I think he's a free agent after the season and they drafted Maziel at pick #22 (which they traded up for). If Hoyer walks he could end up with the Jets, Texans (O'Brian coached him in New England) or Bucs (he would be the type of guy Lovie would go for...veteran player with experience).

Jets/Bucs should be taking Winston/Marriota per mocks, so we will see. Might still have them sit for a year similar to Manziel.

Hoyer is a toss up. The guy is a pure game manager much like Penny. But can he get you a playoff win?

Maybe?

Can you count on him during a shoot out vs Broncos/Pats/Packers?

Doubt it.

Not saying Manziel is a HOF, but you took the guy for a reason.

It's a nice Cinderella story and everyone roots for the underdog (Browns/Hoyer), but if they make the playoffs, Hoyer will be forced to show up and not just game manage.

Hoyer is 9-3 as a starter. I think he's a bit underrated.

Noway the Browns let Hoyer walk , If anything if Hoyer keeps playing like he dose , they might either Trade Hoyer or Manziel, but the way Hoyer is playing , i just cant see it .

Don't know enough about the guy to say yey or ney but we will need a good backup soon.

How about resigning Chris Clemons since Michael Thomas went down, I know I know we signed kovacs but I still respect Clemons, especially in a back up/ ST role

They had the chance but didn't do it. They signed Jordan Kovacs from Philadelphia Eagles. Thomas and Kovacs competed hard for the roster spot and Mike Thomas succeeded because he had the bigger upside. The fact that Hickey, Philbin, Rizzi immediately went back to Kovacs (who already knew the coaches, playbook, etc) shows their thinking.
In case you're not aware, Jordan Kovacs is a real life Rudy story from the University of Michigan - a walk on who ultimately became a team captain because of his terrific high energy tackling. He was also one of owner, Stephen Ross' favorite Wolverines. Kovacs is an extremely smart and high character guy with great leadership attributes.

Yeah I know all about Kovacs. Don't see a ton of upside but apparently all he does is prove people wrong so I hope he does just that

Edit: f*** Michigan

Adrian Peterson

Certainly take some pressure of RT......hey I can dream..............

He'd cost far too much. Miller has improved a lot this year and deserves to be on the team getting his snaps. I doubt that we shell out mega bucks for an every down RB. Ray Rice would actually be a more realistic, less expensive possibility as an addition. I like the RB by committee approach.
