Tired of all of this doom-and-gloom. Yes, I would have preferred an actual 3 down DL instead of a pass-rush specialist, but what's done is done.

What do/can we do in round 2 to make our team better?

what do you mean doom and gloom? Many on this forum are ****ing ecstatic to get a pass rusher of Charles Harris' caliber. It's a few other posters who try to blow up the forum when the draft doesn't go their way.

I wanted a pass rusher...he just wasn't at the top of the list.

I was hoping for Jordan Willis or TJ Watt

We can wait until 54 and probably fill a need but I wouldn't be opposed to moving up to fill another big need with a top prospect.

Forrest Lamp, Buddha Baker, Zach Cunningham, Tyus Bowser, Malik McDowell, Obi Melifonwu, Dion Dawkins, Marcus Maye, Dan Freeney, Raekwon McMillon. Some serious talent still sitting there.

We should be rooting for Davis Webb, Deshone Kizer, Dalvin Cook, Cam Robinson, Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, Zay Jones, Jordan Willis, Chris Godwin, Cooper Kupp, Curtis Samuel, Sidney Jones, Kevin King all go before 54.

Third round is where we are most likely to make a move up. The second round looks promising as it is.
We can afford to move one our fifth rounders to get into the 85th pick range.

Nobody's trying to blow anything up. Just differing opinions. Not sure why people always have a problem with that. It's a message board.

As for the second, interior O-line or DB, most likely. Probably somebody who can play center, given that Pouncey can't stay healthy. It would be great if we were proactive for once and addressed a future problem now. Some good safeties left too.

Would be kinda surprised if they go LB at this point. After Cunningham, there isn't much left, and I imagine he'll be gone by our pick.

So prospects for #54 ... lots of good players still available. Not to overstate the obvious, but here are a few I'd like if they fell:

Guard:
Forrest Lamp (OK, it's a pipe dream ... but the dream is still alive dangit!)
Dan Feeney (Concussion and other health issues may drive down his draft status, but he is an ideal ZBS guard)

Defensive End:
Jordan Willis (highly unlikely he'll be there, but if so he's a very good prospect)
Tanoh Kpassagnon (project with truly awesome tools)
Derek Rivers (doubt he's there, but he can be a very good pass rushing DE)

Defensive Tackle:
Chris Wormley (we seem to love this kid, so don't be surprised if he's the pick)

Linebacker:
Zach Cunningham (very good prospect for WILL or MIKE in our scheme)
Raekwon McMillan (solid and talented LB who I think is underrated)

Cornerback:
Sidney Jones (yes, I realize he'll miss his rookie season, but IMHO he's the best CB in this draft and I'm a total fan of this guy)

Safety:
Budda Baker (it would be a surprise if he were available, but not a total shock. Very good single high safety who would allow us to play Reshad Jones and/or McDonald in the box)
Eddie Jackson (the kid from Alabama who was injured ... he has some upside)
Justin Evans (kid from Texas A&M who is a combo safety but has FS traits)

Tight End:
Bucky Hodges (new to the position, raw, but the sky is the limit for this kid)
Adam Shaheen (big guy who can quickly become a good blocker and size mismatch in the passing game)

I'm thinking safety or guard at 54.

Yep.

I'd be ecstatic to land about any of those names from the top of that list.

I'm almost to the point where I would use a future pick or something to get another 2nd this year. We can realistically fill our top needs in the top 3 rounds.

Cunningham, Dawkins/Feeney, and then maybe one of the later fs prospects for our comp 3? Or mix and match? get a guard with the comp 3 and safety/lb in rd 2. one more pick would do wonders

I think they will take a guard or a defensive tackle with the second round pick. Would love it if they could trade up in the second round and get Forrest Lamp.

I don't understand the need for a safety, the Dolphins addressed that in free agency twice.

Yeah well Nate Allen is atrocious and TJ McDonald is suspended for half of the season.

I would be ecstatic if we somehow got Lamp in the 2nd round.

I'm thinking its wormley. would love if willis was there and we would be set for a very long time. FS from Utah would be good pick up, or the fs from nc st. G from pitt would be great. not sure where he is projected or the g from Utah.
