Knowing this FO I seriously doubt they make it a priority over FA and the draft. They want funds available and restructuring a deal and increasing the 2019 number is not something they are racing to do. Expect movement on this in June/July.

Is he really worth it? We are 6-6 with him. He got torched by the Texans WR. He is good, but i wouldnt say elite. Having lots of interceptions by one guy doesnt make your team a super bowl contender. If we dont make the playoffs? Clearly all those INTs did us no favors.

I would rather have an entire roster of good quality guys, then one or two elite guys and a bunch of ok guys. The Patriots rarely break bank for anyone

Tunsil looks like he's really starting to turn the corner and play like that elite LT.
He's young and should easily play another 7 years!

Top notch DB and LT are hard skillsets to find.
Considering all the F-ups this team does draft-wise every once in a while they hit on some diamonds.

Here is the thing . . . .you only achieve what you are looking for by drafting well every year.

And if you draft well every year and develop the guys then you don’t ever have to worry about dipping into FA to overpay for anybody . . . .you pay your own.

Cap money is blown on overpaid busted free agents . . . .may as well spend it on a quality player at an essential position.

This is a no brainer resign . . . .what We gonna do? Let him walk to sign Andre Branch and Kiko Alonso? Nah man.

If you draft well your cap will always be fine.

    You're kidding right?

Where in the world or rather in the NFL are you going to find a young, healthy, no discipline issues, great ball skills etc DB like that?

We aren't the Patriots and most teams aren't either with superior coaching that can acquire "good" players and collectively turn them into something.

He got torched by Hopkins? Howard wasn't covering him on the 50 yard touchdown. Other than that he had about 30 yards for the game, Howard did a good job of containing Hopkins.

Exactly. And a couple years down the road it's a bargain deal anyway.

R Jones will be gone after this year. So that will free up some cash.

Howard was covering the crossing pattern, that he was beat on, that saw Jones try to jump....which led him to vacate his responsibility on the back end.

He might be the safest contract on the roster. That restructure was as bad as it gets.

This is false. Reshad Jones was just restructured this past off-season. He’s here until 2021. The Dolphins would have significant dead money cap hits if he’s cut prior to 2021.
