Knowing that after this season Parcells will be shopping for a big play WR...either by using a first day pick on one or via FA...they might as well get that guy 'now', before the trade deadline to eliminate the always possibility of a team franchising any of those big name WRs that are FAs, early in the season(while playoffs are still a possibility) and help their chances to not waste this season and have a winning season.

We all pretty much know what are going to be our holes/needs in need of fixing this offseason: Big play WR, CB, OLB, and depth.

Roy Williams would both be our big play 'big' redzone target possession WR, but another deep threat as well.

This would solve our WR need and make our offense a force to reckon with pretty much no holes other than depth on the OL on offense.

This would help out every area of our team from the running game to the other receivers to the defense etc.

Then, we can use Tedd Ginn Jr more on KR/PRs. Also, we need to start Jason Allen at CB opposite Will Allen and allow Lehan and Goodman to play NB and DB.

Crocker is fine as the backup to Hill and Bell. Then we can see if Jason Allen is worth keeping after this season and/or leave the offseason to concentrate primarily on OLB and depth. C'mon, Parcells...pull the trigger and Sparano...make those moves of starting Jason Allen at CB to see if he can be that big CB we need to help against the Boldins of the world. :hi5:

could you be more specific as to your reasons why?

I would love to get him if the price is right. That said, you listed one of his benefits is that he would give us a deep threat. No offense to Chad, who I love, but I don't think he'd be able to take advantage of this part of Roy's game.

He's being shopped right now for impulse buyers. People that think they are one WR away from the big game. People that would give more to have him now than wait til the end of the season, when he is ultimately going to be a FA and the Detroit FO wont be in the way. And no, detroit might as well commit suicide if they want to slap a franchise tag on this cat. Thats a war they dont wanna fight especially when they're trying to CLEAN HOUSE they are trying to get the bad apples away. He made it very clear that he doesnt want to be there.

I dont see bill parcells outbidding anyone else for this cat. I even would like to say that he would rather go 4-12 and pick high in the draft then giving away picks and finishing 9-7. Trading at this point makes absolutely no sense for this organization unless they were throwing him at us, and even if they are, dallas and a bunch of other teams are lined up in the way.

yeah i say stick to the youth movement. We all ready have a deep threat we cant utilize. Now im not bashing chad i have apologized for everything i said about him, but the truth is he doesnt have the arm to get it deep.

Just say Nooooooooooooo!! Stick with the draft and keep building up front. This team will be very good for a long time the way we are going. One stupid trade like that can set this team back again.

Arr man I'm torn on this one.

What would he fetch? 2nd and 4th rounders?

I like that we're buliding in the draft but there's no guarantee that anyone in this years draft will wind up with Roy Williams like ability. If the season pans out like I think it might, Crabtree will be off the board for our first rounder anyway.

It would be good to solidify our WR corps going into the draft, knowing, for example we still have our first, a second and a third to spend on say, a safety, a cornerback and big defensive tackle.

I don't think we'll pull any triggers here though. it'd be a pretty big headline.

Wait till FA and get him, since we are improving and only get better he might be interested in coming here; if not then I say don't worry about him....

He would be somebody in the middle of the field who could actually catch a pass and would draw a double team.

The Guy is 26 years old he would be a Fin for at least 6 years or so, it would be a good investment, everbody on the team doesn't need to be a rookie.

This team needs a go to receiver, the 09 draft doesn't provide a lot of talent, he will be excellent for Miami, or Housmanzada.

Why let a Dallas New England or some team that's already stocked go and get him. If he winds up in Indy or pittsburgh it wouldn't look very good for this defense down the line.

Roy had 5 drops last Sunday. 5! Is that someone we want to bring in as our number one receiver? NO.

There's a reason he's not a number one receiver where he is.
