Roy Williams Anyone?

I noticed Roy Williams is still available in free agency. I know this is a draft that features a lot of talented wide receivers, but adding Williams short-term would seem like a good move. Anyone know why he's still available and if he'd be a good fit for this offensive scheme? I know the Dolphins only have about $7 million and need approximately $5 million for the draft, but they could restructure Jake Long and Cam Wake with long-term deals and make some space. It could also allow Miami to focus on other needs early in the draft - pass rusher, qb of the future, offensive line.

Why even ask?

I would be an odd move to remove one troublesome receiver (Marshall) only to sign another, older, not to mention less talented one (Williams, Burress). I have a sneaking feeling we are being April fooled by this thread...or at least I hope we are.
No April fools here, just haven't followed him closely so I wasn't sure what's going on with him. Sounds like he's been injured or something so that would explain why he is still on the market. I guess it's looking more and more like this need has to be filled in the draft.

I thought you were serious and then I remembered it was April 1st. Nice joke.

So if you haven't been following him closely why would you think it would be a good idea for Miami to sign him...

Ah fair enough mate. Williams at this point in his career is slow, injury prone (only played one full season) and disinterested. In fact if you look at his career as a whole it is very underwhelming and he has only once topped the 1,000 yard mark (and that was six years ago). He is one of the more baffling players in the NFL and one that still has some people thinking that is he gifted despite the fact of doing nothing in two good passing offenses (Cowboys and Bears).

Roy Williams was one of the worst receivers in the entire NFL last year. I doubt he gets a job from anyone.
