Rubbing Off!?!?

Imagine the week Michael Thomas just had. Rapid transit to a team where pretty much your sole interaction is with Special Teams coaches and players. On game day, you're suddenly thrown onto the field and told to play Safety, when your experience is as a CB.

The game is on the line with time running out, and a HOF QB wants that winning TD pass against you. He knows Michael is out there.

And his response under such pressure?

My point is this. Miami, and many other playoff hunting teams, are under this type of pressure going into these last two weeks. I hope that the things that inspired Michael Thomas to play at such a high level at such a critical time "rubs off" on the rest of the team.

I wanted the title to be "Rubbing One Off"...but that would have been purposely misleading.

I too had my hopes raised with such an uplifting title. However, did you get to see Michael Thomas' interview immediately after the game in the locker room? What a terrific guy - I think that the yiddish word is chutzpah (ie he's gutsy). He was candid and openly excited to have been given his shot in a game and he didn't disappoint. This is a good message for life. Sometimes good people just need to be given an opportunity to show what they can do. Some will fail but sometimes you have the good fortune to stumble across a Michael Thomas. We should not forget that players like Cam Wake, Wes Welker, Brent Grimes and Dannell Ellerbe were all undrafted free agents that somebody at some time decided to give an opportunity. Michael Thomas has heart and was not fazed by the situation, he fully embraced it.

Michael Thomas made the best of his opportunity...the pass he knocked out of amendolas hands was a hell of a play
