Don’t like it.
Oof that's rough. At least it's at home, though, if true.
Win. Bortles will toss 4 picks
Tannehill is gonna get hit whether the line is good or not. They get to the QB against anyone. That's a tough opener.
Might be good tho for them to plan game 1 for a long time vs the Jags defense.
Welcome back 17.
Amendola knows that defense. Wake, meet Bortles.
Wonder if it will be week 3 or 4?
Sep 9 in that tweet so first game.
Rather it be home vs an AFCE team.
Barring a hurricane blowing through the area, of course.
Well let's see how good this team is going to be, nothing like a good tough opener to gauge the rebuilt Oline. Either we are going to be good or the biggest cherry in the AFC east.
We won't know how good this team will be til about game 5
Really? I knew within two games after stinking up the Meadowlands last year. Didn't you? You may be wanting to give RT that long but usually you can look at other things and know.
Bortles could toss four picks and we'll still lose 35-21.
Why is that? What about all the other teams in the league that have gone through changes and come out of the gate playing well? Why does this team have a a free pass for four extra weeks of training camp? It makes no sense to me.
Some like to have a bit of a sample size before making judgement... OTOH, some have already decided the the Fins will lose their opener 35-21...
Great Tannehill’s first game back is against the guy who injured him.
Gase and Tanne have their work cut out for em
lol....so if the Phins go 5-0 they are a good team if they go 0-5 pretty bad. But seriously the Oline was the Achilles Heel for this team going on years now, if we play well against that Dline, it tells us right away if those changes made by the FO was the right move, plus it sets the tone for the entire season.......hoping for a nasty smash mouth Oline.
And how did you feel in 2016?
I don't think five games will be necessary, but there's likely going to be some rust.
Branden Albert still plays for Jags?
not an easy way to start but it is what it is. Lets hope our o-line is ready
I was about to say the same thing. How fitting is that?
LOL. I have absolutely nothing to say in my defense except that after all the years of suffering I have a hard time imagining us beating a team week one that was minutes away from going to the Superbowl. Purely an emotional response.
I know they broke the Marino curse a few years ago, but we need to reinstate it
On a positive note, I think the Phins know who the starting 5 on the line is going to be this year (aside from the battle at RG). This is a scenario unfamiliar to us. Just keep that 5 together through camps and let them gel. They need to be ready for that defense.
We've went 5-2 vs Jax since the playoff loss. Just got to hope for the usual opening game dud from Bortles.
BRING IT ON!!!
I was scrolling down thinking I was going to be the first person to point it out.
Cue the bad offensive line excuses.
Ewh...but it's a good assessment game. How do we stack up against a playoff team.
Please don't call deep drops for poor Tannehill.
Run-based offenses gel faster than pass first bubble screens so I'll take the Jags in a walk-off. At least I can make some bank.
You are seeing the early ground work set for the excuses that will soon follow.
Oh no the team that won the worst division in football. Could be worse.
Cue the same typical guys derailing thread after thread with backhanded comments that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.
I'll take it. I doubt anyone in our building is too worried about them.
You have got to give them credit for what they accomplished last year but this isn't like the Pats/Colts/Steelers AFC Championship caliber teams. Last year was a down year for the entire league and there are no great teams in either conference.
Bortles almost beat New England, Jay Cutler and Nick Foles did. It's not saying much.
Fournette, Ramsey, that DL, Myles Jack, much respect. Marrone and Coughlin, more of the same.
My QB's MUCH better than their QB. Like a lot better.
