Rumor from 3 weeks ago.....Marion Barber to Miami....

Barber is a RFA and one of the top 7 or 8 backs in football. He's not going anywhere.

Our backfield is already overloaded. While Barber is a great shortyardage/redzone back there is little chance he ends up in Miami.

Now why would the dolphins be interested in barber? they just signed ricky to a one year deal and still have ronnie lorenzo and chatman as we all know ronnie is the man lorenzo showed promise but is not an everydown back he is useful chatman well he is chatman and can do a decent job lets give credit where is due so why wasted money or another rb when we can focus on other positions we truely need filled. Dont get me wrong barber is pretty impressive the one thing that he lacks is explosion he doesnt posses that speed just my 2 cents

What the Cowboys can do, if they really do want McFadden, is put a 1st round tender on Barber, let him sign somewhere, and give us three 1st rounders from this year (and a 2009 pick, depending on where that third 1 is) for our 1st.

Sounds like a great deal for me.

I think Huizenga and Parcells have made a deal with the Cowboys in some way, shape, or form. I think that they raided the Cowboys staff in exchange for some type of 1st round draft pick swap so they can get McFadden. Maybe they'll have a backfield with Barber/Jones(whichever one doesn't leave), McFadden, and dare I say Ricky Williams, and we'll have Ronnie Brown, Barber/Jones(whichever one we can get), Lorenzo Booker, and Chatman.....

I don't see Dallas giving up Barber, he has turned into everyone's favorite with the way he runs

I'd take that in a second!! but I'm might be the only one who would take the cowboys current 2 1st rounders for our pick. I know that it is under-selling severely, and that there is almost no way to justify it to the fans and media, but I don't think that you improve your team by paying record cash to a #1 overall pick unless that guy is a blue-chip QB....which I don't think this draft has. Give me 2 value picks in the end of round 1 and let someone else break the bank on the unproven.

i cant understand why everybody is assuming chatman will even make the team next year. that guy cant catch a thing out of the backfield.

Forget it. Barber is too good to trade. He's young, has not been overused and is one of the toughest runners in the NFL. I would be shocked if they traded him.
