At first glance this seems dumb, but looking deeper in might be genius. Its basically a wash on talent and contract amount, upgrade on age, and pick up a couple draft picks. They wouldnt get the same deal for byron. And if they chose to not pick up JC they basically just lose out on picks. Its like trading Howard for JC and picks. I'll take that any day.

I'd hate to see him leave BUT we could never give anyone on D and probably O too more moolah than him otherwise he throws a bitch fit. I think a JC for X is a no brainer if it could be done.

My thinking on this was along these lines. Sign JC. The Eagles are in the market for a bigtime corner to pair with Slay. The eagles have our original 1st round pick. Trade X to the Eagles for the 15th pick in the draft along with a 2nd round pick in 2023. Secondary on our end stays the same with a younger healthier version of our ballhawk X without the headache of changing the contract every season. In addition we pick up a premium pick in this years draft washing away the mistake of not dealing the 49ers pick to begin with. Lastly we pick up a 2nd for next year that would give us 4 picks in the 1st 2 rounds which we could use to trade up or around in the draft, or for big time players on other teams.
