Pointing out the Dolphins mistakes in advance is almost as fun as seeing them be successful on the field. The Dolphins are like Homer Simpson bungling and screwing something up while Lisa Simpson (the fans and voices of reason) warns him that his confident but dumb decisions will be foiled.

Lisa needs braces!

Eh expecting Grier to proactively blow the team up is not something I would expect.

He is a survivor first and kicking off a tank-a-thon would be admitting all his mistakes.

If Ross was surprised by this the issue in this article than the problem is with him and not Grier.

Yeah, there's something that doesn't add up. Ross being all that business mind expected Grier to trade away talent and dig his own grave ? Unless he told Grier his job was safe no matter the record.

they both stink in my view. toxic brew

Why are you a Dolphins fan? Serious question. The only thing you come here to do is bitch over and over about the same ****.

I'm not saying there's been a whole lot of good in the past 25 years, but if you don't enjoy anything, why do you continue to root for them?
Exactly. They're comparing players with zero injury history and signed long term to a guy with 2 major injuries and an expiring contract. They arent the same.

The sad part is he just didn’t stay healthy for us and we don’t have cap room to take chance to give him extension. Nobody questions his talent.

If we had a lot of cap room I think Miami would have taken chance and given him extension.

Miami loves injured players. But no cap room took that option off the table.

Me I probably would have seen if he would took team friendly deal. He probably wouldn’t but I would have tried.
Maybe they did try and decided to get something for him in 2026 rather than 2027?

I agree with you btw, Phillips has the talent to be a top edge rusher in the league but injuries have hampered him. If he stays healthy the Eagles have stolen him, he's worth way more than a pick in the 90's if he's healthy. Even this season that people are saying he has been poor/rubbish/terrible but I'm sure I saw somewhere that he is joint 12th in pressures this year and his run win rate has been really good as well.

PFF had him ranked 18th after week 8 in pass rush grade, they had him at 19.2% pass rush win rate which is near top 10, they have him with 27 pressures which is up there with guys like Trey Hendrickson, Danielle Hunter, Joey Bosa etc.

For a 26 year old coming back from injury to be a top 20 edge rusher and only costing a late 3rd round pick? The Eagles got a steal imho. Just watch him start to rack up sacks now as the Eagles can push the pocket so the QB can't escape up the middle.

Why are complaining about the JP deal?

-No extension signed
-If he walks, best we can hope for is a 3rd round pick (depending on the rest of our signings)
-Lengthy injury history

Its naive to think we'd get anymore considering he's finished the last 2 seasons in a row on IR and isn't having the same production as he had previously

A third for Phillips was fine. My issue is that we didn't make any other deals. Judon, Chubb, Douglas, basically anyone who isn't going to be here next year, and who has any value, should have been traded.

Maybe they tried. I'm confident the did. I suspect other team choked on the salary.

If the Dolphins were fine with paying most of Phillips’ salary just to flip his potential comp pick value for a bottom 3rd round pick then I can’t imagine the exceedingly low offers they reportedly rejected for other players.
