Seattle Times is reporting Randy Winn and Joel Pinero to NY for Carl Pavano.

The original deal was Jamie Moyer and Winn for Pavano and the Yanks said no. They don't want Moyer.

Why do we give up on guys so quickly? I understood getting rid of Vasquez for Johnson but do we have to get rid of every pitcher we get so quick? It takes guys time to adjust sometimes, it took Roger Clemens 2 full seasons before he became the real Roger Clemens so if it took a guy like Clemens time why wouldn't they expect it to take time fro guys like Pavano, Vasquez, Weaver, Contreras, etc...?

I would not give up on Pavano for anyone. We signed him to the contract this off-season and I think at the very least we need to give him two full years before we call him a bust!

The Mariners wanted Pavano in free agency. They'd love to have him.

Wynn is a good player, It would take more then Pavano for me to deal him!

Sarcasm at it's best (atleast it better be).

I'd rather have Pavano on the mound with Bernie in center then Tim Redding on the mound with Randy Wynn in center!

Unless he's injured (and he could very well be), I think Pineiro would be starting.

I don't mind moving Pavano......but Winn isn't a centerfielder! I think he has only played 20 games there this year. And he doesn't have a long history of playing CF.

If the Yanks are going to trade Pavano they need to get a true centerfiedler in return.

Did Winn play center for Tampa when he was an All Star?

I think he played LF, but can't be sure. It doesn't matter, though, he's one of those token all-stars, where they pick the best guy from a crappy team because there's no one better. In reality, Winn is a solid player who has never deserved to be called an all-star.
