Hey guys we all saw that play where it Ricky was trying to throw. For this formation to have great success we need to be able to have a pass option out of it.

We could run Ginn on the motion he can throw pretty well. Ronnie could fake up the middle and just do a nice little toss to fasano or bess or whoever.

So what do you guys think we need to do to get a viable pass option out of this formation? I think we can have success out of it regardless but if we can have the threat of a pass this formation will be DEADLY.

i agree, we should get ginn more involved in this wild cat. he has the speed to run with the ball, and he can even throw it as we saw in ohio state.

i really want 2 see ronnie start throwing the ball. i feel if we run the wild cat 15 times in a game than ronnie should throw it 4-5 times. u send fasano short and maybe send ginn long and have the run first approach, and if there isnt a running lane and the pressure is coming than u throw it short 2 fasano, unless ginn looks open deep than u hit ginn. i heard ronnie can throw the ball pretty good.

i would love to see ginn back their instead ifstead of Brown once in a blue moon. if he is the fastest player on the team why not give him a try for like 2-3 plays..it could be a new wrinkle i guess

leave ronnie where he is and build teddy's confidence with giving him some reps instead of ricky coming around in the jetsweep motion

or have pennington take the handoff and throw the ball
:woot:

My heart skips a beat whenever I see Ronnie or Ricky lifting the ball up like they're going to throw it. Ronnie's pass to Fasano a few weeks ago worked, but it was ugly. I'd rather see the RB's run and the QB throw.

ugly how? it was a perfectly placed strike.

good thing Fasano caught it. he said in practice that Ronnie threw ducks.

I would like to see Ricky back there taking some of the snaps and letting ronnie run the end around a few times just to see what the defense would do. I think that is something that could easily be done, and Ricky does have as good if not better vision than Ronnie and is more elusive a lot of the time. Even though I will say Ronnie has looked amazing the past few weeks. I just think letting Ricky run it a few times would be a great wrinkle.

Ted Ginn was one of the top high school recruits in the nation at defensive back, I think he was rated number 2 at his position.

On offense Ginn played QB in high school, not wide reciever.

He was moved to reciever at Ohio State.

I'd say Ginn passing out of the Wildcat formation would be a great weapon.

I loved Ricky showing pass even if noone was open it keeps defenses alert. I would like to Pennington run it once or twice too. I would like to see all our backs used as all purpose backs. Even if it does not always work it keeps their defenses guessing on what we are doing. The important aspect is our backs have to read the defenses vulnerability and capitalize on it. The scary part is if the defense masks something to look like an opening and turns it into a turn over. Thats the danger in this but so far it has not back fired on us yet.
