Anyone ever heard of a guy called Lamar Miller? The reluctance of this coaching staff to let this kid be the GUY is mind boggling. His YPC shows he can do it. Some teams can establish the pass with the run. We can do the opposite. Spread the defense out with 3-4 sets, play the pats dink and dunk mid range offense with Cameron and Landry and let this damn kid run the rock. Jennings has proven he has a veteran route tree and would be a tremendous chain mover. Get the defense on its heals and go deep to Stills. Miller will never probably be a top 3 rb in this league, however I could see him in the Clinton Portis mold. I think he just needs a legit shot and to get off Lazor or Philbins dog leash...

A whole lot of yes in this post. One of ourdrives in the 2nd half, we start with 2 run plays and get 26 yards and then Lazor doesn't run the all again on the drive. Drove me crazy

Agree with everyone here. We abandon the run way too early, way too often.

Early in the game they had multiple runs with 1 or 2 yards to the first down and got stuffed. The first and third drives ended on an inability to pick up one yard. The 4th drive was a TD.

Four drives in the entire first half. THAT is the problem.

First time we got the ball, 8 yard pass followed by an inability to get two yards on two carries.

I think they started overcompensating. What I'd like to see is the team actually run the ball instead of calling bubble screens or short crossers. Not only is there less risk involved in a running play, but it sets a different tone for the offensive line and allows them to be more aggressive in attacking the defenders.

I expected the OL to be a little shaky with 2 new starters at OG and Albert seeing his first action in 10 months and 3 new WR's. I'd expect them to get better every week moving forward which is why we got such a break with Washington(who deserves some credit) and Jacksonville to start the season. Albert should be getting stronger week by week, Bye can't get here soon enough (odd thing to say 1 week into the season but it's true).

Parker and Albert need to be studs week's 6-17.

A problem with our running game is that we are always in shot gun formation. We need 1 yard still in shot gun. We also have nobody that can go into the full back role on the goal line so we can use the I and get a easy TD.

Also 4th and 1 why the **** is Damien Williams out there running the ball.

Yes, we had few chances in the first half. However we also didn't capitalize on the opportunities we had.

My question is why are you running Damian Williams on the 4th down play when we have lamar miller? Ok, back size maybe? Miller is more dynamic. This team is built to play multiple wide sets, has an athletic qb who can scramble and clinton portis 2.0 at rb. No reason why we can't pick up a yard based on the skill sets of the players we now have on this team. No more excuses for this offense unless we witness a collapse at the o-line. Nobody we field at the skill positions wouldn't be now starting or a situational player on another team other than perhaps Matthews at WR but even he is coming into his own. Get it done

I slammed that stupid 4th and 1 stretch play when Mike Sherman did it, and I'll slam Lazor for it, too. Ever heard of a QB freaking sneak?

Remember when everyone was bitching at Mike Sherman in 2013 about the fact that he kept running **** plays on 3rd or 4th and 1 and asking why we didn't use the QB Sneak? And then we finally ran one, and we finally got the first down, and then we never did it again? Yup, I remember.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but Philbin is the problem. When he was hired, he said that he was going to use the short passing game to mostly replace the running game, and that's what he has done. Sherman was once criticized for not staying with an effective running game, but in an interview he said that it was Philbin's call. Philbin is all about the short timing routes, as evidenced by the fact that since he's been here a lot of time, effort, and resources have gone into the WR corps, yet not enough has been done to provide a decent enough o-line to give the QB time to look (and throw) downfield. I've always felt that Philbin doesn't care about having a strong o-line because short passes don't require sustained blocks, and a power short-yardage running game is not in his gameplan.
