me too. at the same time they have short shelf life's. Players don't respond well to conservative coaching which was their Achilles heel in the afc championship game. They are for sure a dying breed

Gase was dead last in rushing attempts last year. Without RT. And with Cutler.
You can certainly take a lot from last year and the Gase philosophy.

In the last 5 years, Patriots have been bottom half of the league or worse in rushing, one year even finishing 32nd... Pretty sure that was the same year they won one of their super bowls as well lol.
They've won more consistently in the last two decades than any team in NFL history, yet their running game has been average or worse the majority of the years.
3 of the last 5 years the Patriots have been top 10 in rushing yards including 2016 when they won their last super bowl. The patriots over all have been top 10 in rushing yards 10 times since 2001. In every single one of their Super Bowls wins they were no worse than 13th in rush attempts, they haven't always had success running but they tend to not abandon it.

QBs like Brady, Big Ben, Brees can overcome such deficits with a sub par run game.
A while back when the Pat's started out slow by their standards, like 4-3 or so. BB made a move to primarily 3 TE sets, pushing their offense to focus on the run. And they won. While Rodgers and Brady can compensate for a lackluster run game the average Joe's can't.

Yeah you may want to go to a better website for your information because according to pro football reference and ESPN the Patriots were a top 10 rushing offense in 2017, 2016, and 2013. I don't know how that site calculates their ranking but in team rankings the Patriots as team rushed for 1889 yards in 2017 good for 10th, 1872 in 2017 good for 7th, and 2065 in 2013 good for 9th.
