Shelton was a second round pick of Carolina two years ago but hasnt done much since joining them. With the strong play of Deangelo he will probably be released and if so could be an interesting pick up for the Dolphins. He is big and can be used in goal line situations, short yardage and give Ronnie a break every so often. Saban has proven he can get the most out of players (besides Wright) and if he can work his magic on Shelton he could end up being a pretty good back-up running back.

Why would we want every other teams castoffs who haven't done a thing for them???!!!! :shakeno:

Shelton probably won't be cut. I live in Charlotte and they seem to be very happy with him as a 3rd back and/or special teams. They just had a feature on him in the paper. But who knows? No one thought Koren Robinson would be cut.

I think this is hillarious. When we first announced our interest in Dan Wilkinson, there were so many people that came out and said, "We don't need a career underachiever who doesn't want to go through training camp!!! Besides we're fine with Manny Wright, Kevin Vickerson and Fred Evans!!!!" Now everyone loves Big Daddy. It's called adding depth to your team, people, and there's nothing wrong with it.

I just hope the Skins release Ladell Betts. I know it's highly unlikely they'd just out-right release him but...Rock Cartwright would be a good bruiser also and I would think the Skins are going to release him. Here in Houston the paper is saying Antwoin Smith is all but gone and Domanick Davis may be gone but that would be because he is injured and most likely would not contribute much this season. But I think it may also be that he's not the kind of back Kubiak likes and he's ready to start the season with 6th rounder Wali Lundy with Vernand Morency as the back-up who would split carries.

I actually liked the guy coming out of Louisville. It amazed me that he didn't get himself acclimated. Although, I do feel as though Shelton would be a better fit for a high powered attack, much like what he had in college.

I was thinking Shelton too. He's toast down there....perhaps Nick can make him a player.

Dominick Davis would be nice but I saw somewhere someone proposed Manny Wright to Tenn for Travis Henry, I would do this.

travis henry is the starter in tennessee, i doubt they want a player that has as many problems as manny wright for him

problem is they are not that stupid

Saban doesn't need to watch the waiver wire, all he has to do is read FinHeaven and see all the pickups/trades we offer him, surely he could benefit from our opinions! (scarcasm)
