did neoen see the touch passes russel threw in the bowl game? every DEEP pass hit the WR straight in the palms but htey dropped i believe 2-3 of em and a few for TD's. this guy showed smarts, patience, ability to run if open field presents itself, and throw bullets with the MAIN TOUCH.

he reminded me of DC in a few ways.

Damn OAKLAND! GR!

did he really do anything that impressive? he never really has. big arm, yes, but meh....never anything spectacular. makes some good decisions, some bad ones...very average player as far as i'm concerned.

that was my first time seen him play I was Amazed by his arm. Does he really throw the ball 85 yards?

You think that arm is average? You think his size is average? The guys a man amongst kids out there and he was only a junior. You think thats average? 300+yards is average?

Im sorry, there was nothing average about His performance in the sugar bowl. As for Quinn, now he was pretty average...

well...you saw him...do you have any doubt that? He throws it 35 yards like its a screen pass...

Where as a guy like Pennington has to actually pull his arm back and hope it gets 30 yards...

Ever see Jim Drunckenmiller launch a 70yrd pass flat-footed? Plenty of guys have cannons for arms, I'm hesitate on calling Russell "the Best".

no, i think his play is average, which is far more important than the fact that he can throw a medicine ball 200 yards underwater.

He has crazy physical skills and size, but the Giants backup QB makes JaMarcus look small. Size alone doesn't make you great. Lets see what JaMarcus can do in a Raider's uniform when Gallery and the turnstyle O-Line have him running for his life.

yes he can....iv been followin him and he can throw the ball 60 to 65 yards down field on the run ..... its amazing wat he can do but vick also can throw very veryy deep while running toward out of bounds line. I watched a game of vick and he threw it 77 yards downfield on the run toward out of bounds( this is not a lie, lol,it was vs the panthers about year or two ago)

My beef with Russell was always his playmaking under fire in big games. He makes some great plays, but also has that Daunteish ability to just throw a killer at the wrong time.
However, watching that Bowl game he played very well end to end. He made good plays all day, didnt let up, showed his physical attributes very well and just ran the offense like a machine. This was arguably the biggest game of his college career and he aced it. That answered alot of questions for me.

That all said, if hes around by #9 I will be astounded. His combine numbers will be off the charts and I dont see that as hurting him. Almost certainly gone in the top 3 now.
Quinn to me has been very overrated. Hes got a solid base, but has yet to step it up in a big game, ND seems to blow it every time. And granted they got outplayed by LSU as a team, but to only put up 14 pts in the game and 0 in the second half is inexcusable for a guy who many are touting as the #1 pick to me.

I eagerly await Smiths game in the BCS bowl here, if he knocks it out I can see him going top 10 with no issues either. Brohm I think is also there. Five potential QBs going in the top 15 when you add the possibility of Brennen declaring, this could be a banner year for QBs.

We won't be able to draft him as his stock is rising. He may be picked over Quinn. MAybe even number 1.

I guarantee you that if the roles were reversed and Russell had to play against an LSU defense and Quinn had to play against a ND defense, the stats would be reversed.
