Come on now.No negative responses.New Jersey has always had great h.s. football players that go to the bigger schools. Finally Rutgers has a guy in Schiano that the kids want to stay in state and play for(not to mention some Fla. recruits)IMO,i feel they have some potential to be top 10,within a year or 2.BTW,they have 46 votes to crack top 25 as of now.Tell me what you think, and show some love:wink:

Rock on Scarlet Knights! Keep the home grown talent and you wont have to go out of state very often.

Born and raised Jackson, NJ!

Rutgers has impressed the heck out of me this year. Not only has the coaching been great, but they have recruited some very nice talent. I was very surprised to see their team speed when I saw the game against North Carolina.

Where's NJFINSFAN? This thread should be his baby :rolleyes2

rutgers is great.

unfortunately schiano is going to coach miami next year.
Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me for a second. He's probably #2 on UM fan's wish list behind Butch.

They're definately on the rise as a program. I'm a Louisville fan and Rutgers impressed me in their game last year. The better they become, the better the Big East becomes as a conference. I predict in another 2 or 3 years that the Big East will be a better conference than the ACC. They only thing they have to worry about now is what U of L had to worry about before Petrino: other teams vulturing your coach. Other bigger programs kept grabbing our coaches.

Rutgers have definately improved starting last year. They have a good pool of talent from which to recruit from and it is looking like they are finally starting to get good players. I thought they would improve this year on what they started in 2005 and it looks like they are. Before the season started for some reason I though Pitt would be the #3 BigEast team but it looks like Rutgers can claim that spot this year.

I really like their offense and they can definately put up some points.

I think they struggle on D still and I am not sure they can win a shoot out with the top BigEast teams in UL and WVU. I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish 10-2.

That Bowl Game they played in 2005 was one of the most exciting games of the bowl season. Too bad they had to play ASU in their back yard or it might have been a different ending. They are on the rise and once they can get enough good recruits to add some needed depth to their team then they can finally turn the corner and start compeating for the BigEast championship.

I am hoping to see them crack the top 25 in the next couple weeks if they continue playing like they did the first 2 weeks. Making the Gator Bowl would be very good for Rutgers and is withing reach. I think UL and WVU would both have to reach BCS games though for that to happen as I don't think Rutgers can beat either team yet.

For some reason that game v/s Rutgers scares me the most on WVU's schedule. Last game of the season and if WVU is undefeated going into that game I hope they don't look past it.

Well said, bro.Being a fan my whole life and seeing what their doing these days.I hope the coach does not leave, and continues to build upon what he started there.Thanx to all for these nice posts.I'm pumped for a very good season!

Yep, Rutgers is definately a team on the rise. (OMG did I actually say that?!? :chuckle: ) Seriously though, Schiano has 'em on the right path, and I look for continued growth in their program over the next 5 years.

I loved Rutgers FB last year. He had the speed of a RB and hands of a TE. Is he still there? I forgot his name.

THey are playing better but they haven't beaten anyone this year. Illnois and UNC isn't impressive.

They gotta compete with L'vile, WV, Pitt...etc to be taken seriously on the national level. Not win, just compete

Rutgers won't be able to keep him as coach. Some big school will come calling and end your dream. Lets see who else they beat this year before I start praising them

That's cool.I think they beat Pitt. Do beater than Miami against Louie., and lose, but play tough against W.V. IF they do what i think, that is a major boost to the program IMO.
