About five months removed from tearing his ACL and Broyles is running under 4.6 in the 40?

12 NFL teams in attendance for @RyanBroyles pro day. Consensus among scouts I've talked to is a very impressive performance.

@RyanBroyles at his #OU ProDay runs a 4.57 40 yard dash. Not bad for tearing ACL at end of season #NCAAReceptionsLeader twitter.com/theChrisElliot…

Vert for @RyanBroyles: 32.5" first 40: 4.59. 2nd 40: 4.57.

around a 4.6 guy what i think he is...maybe mid 4.5's...more quick than fast imo...a good showing at his pro day if true looks like 3rd round pick to me provided the medical checks out

These are the kind of mid round picks that solidify offenses. Broyles getting hurt obviously kills his draft stock, but for a team like us who are hopefully going to spend multiple mid round picks on WR's, he is the perfect kind of guy to target.

I dont see him ever becoming a primary receiver, but building your WR corps with guys like Broyles is a great way to have contributors down your depth chart.

now i'm hearing he ran mid 4.6's but what 5 months off acl surgery..nursed the knee some in drills on cuts etc which is to be expected...

Would be a definite upgrade to Davone Bess long term, imo. A similar player but with actual ability to take the ball the distance (though he's not a burner). I love underdogs like Bess but a referee could track that guy down from behind. Broyles would make a great third rounder and be an unbelievable steal in the fourth.

ha ha...yeah whenever davon bess would field a punt and run sideways it was for real like a buffalo stampede how quickly he would get run down...he's got great short area initial quickness which gets him open against press off the ball but once he gets the ball in his hands he might make the first guy miss but after that when he gets north and south its like a tire blow out how slow he is...pretty obvious why he went undrafted

I've always liked him. He's more of an OJ McDuffie in that he won't necessarily wow you with his skills, but he knows how to get open and is a quarterbacks friend. Probably a 3rd rounder.

Yeah. Bess is the only guy I've ever seen who's actually faster when juking then he is when sprinting. If he had thrown some obstacles on the track for his 40 he might have run a 4.5 instead of a 4.75.
