Ryan Fitzpatrick would look good in Dallas

Fitz will be a free agent next season and can cherrypick where he wants to go. Anything less than a 3rd in the next draft, I'd reject out of hand. We don't know how Tua will perform, let alone hold up.. and he needs Fitz's input every time he comes off the field.

We've actually done Fitz a favor by removing him and maintaining his market value before he morphed into "FitzTragic" which he inevitably does.

Again, mentor thing is so overblown. Did Marino, Montana, Payton, Rogers, Mahomes had a so call mentor? You either got 'it' or you don't.
You can argue over what exactly constitutes a mentor, but Strock was very important to Marino. Rogers sat for a few years behind Favre and Mahomes sat for a year behind Smith. Not sure if the latter two "mentored" them but you can argue that the presence of a seasoned vet for at least their first year was important in their development.

Faver once openly stated that he would not teach anyone trying to take his job. And never heard anything about Smith took Mahomes under his wing.

So....

Therefore, Smith and Mahomes built a close relationship as they became teammates in Mahomes’ rookie season. That relationship has held true, even with Smith dealing with his serious leg injury.

Without a doubt, Mahomes has been able to evolve into arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. But Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, doesn’t believe he’d be where he is without Smith’s tutelage. Given how much Smith helped him, Mahomes will always think highly of Smith.

Aaron sat behind Favre, Patrick sat behind Alex Smith.

Favre may have not been thrilled by Aaron being drafted but he watched and learned from Favre(Favre was not taking to the mentor role as Fitz did). Patrick sat behind Alex Smith and numerous times could be seen with him talking plays, looking at screens to see what Alex saw on a play, etc..
Two sat behind starting qb, yes. Mentor roll, no. Never heard a blip. What is qb coach for anyway?

Take a look at my last reply before yours ;) Reid called Smith mentor, Mahomes himself has come out a few times and mentioned Alex mentoring him, stop looking for blips and start seeing the captain obvious boat coming your way

I think that 7-9 and winning the division has lost its appeal.
