Cleveland will trade their 22nd for him because 1.) The pats need another first rounder, not and 2.) The Browns have faith in McCoy..At least they keep saying that.
 
The Pats don't have third day picks for whatever reason BB values those picks alot more than most coaches/GM's

1st Round (Pick 31)
2nd Round (Pick 48) (via Oakland)
2nd Round (Pick 62)
3rd Round (Pick 93)
4th Round (Pick 126)

All he has to do is trade back and aquire picks either this season or next like he usually does

But getting back to the original post,I view the Pats forum Patriot Planet and there is NO mention
of Mallett or Hoyer being available.I'm not saying the original statement is true or not but
I believe the hard core fan base would have heard something.
 
Crazy draft scenario:
1st round - Couples
2nd round - Best WR available
3rd(maybe one next year) - Trade one of theme for Mallet and let him compete with Moore. You can always wait for next year draft when a least 4 good QB will be availble.
3rd - OL
 
IF Mallet or Hoyer are available, they probably aren't all that good, and even if they are why would ANYBODY think the Patriots would trade them to us so we could improve our QB situation and challenge them???? We will not end up with either unless our FO falls for a BB rouse and we trade valuable picks for Patriots garbage.

I don't understand the "only virgin" quarterback mind set. If you're willing to give up multiple first round picks for Andrew Luck in 2012, why would you be unwilling to give up one for him in 2013 simply because he's been with another team? Of course Luck won't be available next year, but you get my point.

I'm trying to understand the depreciation of a player's value by fans as it relates to the draft. It's not just quarterbacks. In most cases the same player that fans think is worth the 24th pick in this year's draft would not be worth trading the 40th pick for the next year. And after 2 years the value seems to drop to a 70th or 80th pick.

I was just looking at one mock draft for 2011 where people were saying Miami should draft Wr Torry Smith. Smith had a decent rookie year, however few fans would be willing to trade the 15th pick for him this year.
 
Interesting. Because of Brady, BB is considered a QB developing guru? Other than they lucked out with TB, what other NE quarterback has done squat elsewhere? If they are offering Mallett out there (which I doubt), they are only doing so to see if someone is dumb enough to pay more than they spent on him, not as a discount. They are just hoping one of the desperate QB hungry teams who don't look to end up with someone decent in the draft pulls the trigger and overpay so they can get more picks.
