Before tonight I had completely written off Mr. Mallet based on what I had heard concerning his character. I fell in love with Ryan Mallet when I watched him in the Army High School All American game almost 6 years ago and after watching the sugar bowl I remember why. The guy has a live arm! the ball jumps out of his hands like none other.
But we all know that there are other things that are more important than are strength. Leadership abilities and maturity are important things for QBs to have. And many people believe that Mallett lacks these things and I can't blame them. When you here Mallett talk he sounds like a gangster and he's not above playing jokes that some might consider immature like the one he played on the lovely Erin Andrews. The Links to the Erina Andrews thing and a few interviews are below.

So after watching the Sugar Bowl I got to thinking. Ryan Mallet obviously can make all the throws, he's got prototypical size, and he might still be available at 15. But everyone says that he has character issues. He's almost a perfect fit.
I sat here for awhile and realized that I don't care if Ryan Mallet sounds like a gangster and that I too I would punish Erin Andrews (already knew that part). The guy may be a child in terms a maturity which is a concern but he clearly has the mental ability to be successful as a QB, you can see it with the command he has of the offense. He knows where everyone is and he has the arm to get the ball to all of them.
The guy might bomb the Wonderlic but as long as he can stay out of trouble and win games I don't care if he reminds me of Paul Wall. I'm definitely not saying that Mallett is the guy but he is definitely back on my list.
