I wonder how much Ryan has learned or if he has grown from the sidelines this year?

This is the first year he has truely got to sit and watch any offense he has been in since being drafted.

I have zero doubt about how hard he's working in both the rehab aspect and film study. He seems like a total junkie when it comes to putting in the work necessary to get back to as close to 100% as possible. In my opinion RT is the least of our worries going forward for next year.

I'm sure some of the games were instructive in terms of what not to do. It's true that a QB can gain perspective on the sideline watching opposing QBs work, but it's not the same as observing a QB executing, or trying to execute your playbook; it likely has been very helpful.

It's been by almost every former QB on TV, watching as the backup or when injured only helped their career in the long. I can distinctly remember Steve Young tell his personal story on watching Joe Montana and learning and some relearning how to be a true pro style QB.

There’s no experience like game play experience
He had that under his belt already in Gases system -and did well. Now he gets to observe for a full season.

I'm sure he knows the playbook like the back of his hand by now, so I guess it's helped in that aspect... although by all accounts he probably already knew it pretty well. Like hoops said though, game actions trumps anything he could be doing on the sidelines.

He will come back smarter, but more importantly, I am hoping he comes back just a little pissed off too.

I fully expect the next Ryan Tannehill we see will be no doubt the best version yet.

There's no way that sitting out for a full year can help a quarterback. No way.

I just hope he doesn't come back and look like Joe Flacco. That is one case where a quarterback just couldn't really come back from a knee injury. I don't know what it is, I think maybe he's just afraid to plant his leg now, but it's been night and day in his throwing accuracy.

And he got decapitated by Alonso to boot. Not the same guy.

Except we don’t want Tanny coming back and looking like Cutler! :thumbsup

I agree. There is a lot on this team that is an example of what not to do, including the coaching.:biggrin
