Per PFF, Tannehill had a very good afternoon in a stadium where he has experienced some of his worst games as a pro. His 85.9 overall grade was the second best in the NFL this week. He was able to pick apart the Patriots' defense when he wasn't blized (25-of-32 for 270 yards and two touchdowns) for an NFL QB rating of 96.6.

Slow starts are still killing us. I don't know what the answer is to fixing it either, it's been going on for over a season now. I know we want to establish a running game but we may have to just throw to establish the run.

Tannehill had a good game but he's going to have to play better for this team to win. No running game, no defense...it falls on him to get the W. That may be unfair but that's what needs to happen.

I think the slow starts are a product of the abysmal running game. I mean come on Tannehill is the leading rusher lol.

Prevent defenses are soft.

If you think the Patriots were running prevent defense in the second half, you know nothing about football, period. That's a line I don't usually use, but if you honestly watched that game and said "Oh, they're in Prevent defense" then you literally know absolutely nothing about football and don't understand what you're looking at. That's just the honest, unvarnished truth. They were crowding the line of scrimmage and playing very aggressively in the second half.

In before PFF is garbage

My feelings about the unreliability and overall absurdity of PFF rankings at times is well known, I think. But with that said, PFF thinks our two best players are 17 and 93.

PFF is correct on both counts.

Well, the Philbin years were slow starts because 1) he didn't trust Tannehill, and 2) he couldn't motivate the players. Fans saw the difference in Camp's 1st two games. In Gase's 1st two games, it looks like he wants to start conservatively. THAT needs to change. Not only would an aggressive O be more likely to score points, but it gets everyone in the O pumped (assuming it works).

Turnovers and the defense's inability to make a stop kept our offense from being able to get something going in the first half. Can't do anything if you don't have the ball.

Agree except drive #2 in Seattle where we went way deep right away to Stills, so he's not been 100% conservative. They need to stick with passing at first to get the offense going, short passes (not WR screens) replace the runs for couple drives. They start sprinkling in the runs, or even go heavy if the running game shows some life.

One person can't do it all. Unfortunately it all falls on Tannehill anyway. He can't make receivers run the correct routes and actually get open. He can't run block. He can't take a hand off from himself and run through a nonexistent hole or make something out of nothing. He can't pass block for himself. He is far from perfect out there, but why try to make him win games all by himself? It's all on him at this point, and that's gotten us two close-but-no-cigar losses so far this season.

Start the game with no-huddle fast tempo...

No but he can run for 1st downs, change plays at the line, extend plays by moving in the pocket, execute sneaks, throw past the sticks on 3rd down, and a 100 other little things that can get you over hump to help win close games. Fair or not when you are the 'franchise' QB more is expected of you and you have more opportunities/responsibly for scoring points.

Yes , he should cook meals for players as well , maybe even get in there and do a little run blocking after he hands the ball off.

If nobody is open , he should go out there and use his wr skills to run a route and simultaneously throw it to himself while not crossing the line of scrimmage . So many things this guy could do to help us win .
