I thought and still think he had the most NFL potential of any RB in the 2011 draft. He just has not been able to stay healthy. Maybe a fresh start would do him some good. Worth a look...

I'm with you a 100%.. Sign him to a cheap contract, put him on the PS for a year to let him fully recover. I feel like AZ kept rushing him back after every injury not allowing him time to fully heal and putting him at greater risk for further injury. I think when he's healthy he'll be better than any RB we will get in the 3rd round or later so it would essentially be like saving a draft pick next year.

I'd do it just for the potential to see a dreadlocked #34 with Williams on the back running people over again. Those were my favorite times as a Dolphins fan!

I don't think he ever recovered mentally of physically from his injury during preseason his rookie year. There's no telling how good he may have already become if not for that. I definitely think someone will give him a chance at a fresh start, might as well be us. He's mega talented, it's just whether or not he can return to form.

He's only played in five games during his three year career, due to injury. The Cards must think the injury situation is not going to get any better, because he hasn't played enough to say he doesn't have the talent for the NFL.

Check out the first injury..hope Gibson comes back better.

The Arizona Cardinals released the running back on Monday, just three years after the organization took Williams with the No. 38 overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. We loved Williams' running style coming out of Virginia Tech, and he looked very promising in his first preseason. But a ruptured patella tendon suffered in his third preseason game changed the course of his career.

I like Gibson but his replacement was drafted. Jarvis "OJ Mcduffie part 2" Landry

Cadillac Williams tore his patellar tendon and came back to have a productive year. ... however, in a freak tackle from behind, tore his tendon again. Out of league next year. I KNOW Brandon Gibson can recover. I would also work out Williams.

So what's the hold up on Williams return to play? Rupturing a patella tendon is tough but not all that hard to make a full return from. He should have been back producing by now. To be released raises new red flags.
