I will say this, Miami's scouting department generally does a good job with secondary evaluations.

That will certainly be put to the test too. Will Smith step up and become a valuable starting corners? Bonner, Johnson and a few other young corners will be given a chance as well. Unless, Grier brings in a veteran in the next phase of free agency
Not so sure if you include Iggy and Cam Smith. They have brought in good players. I hated them letting Brandon Jones go and then Kendall Fuller, who I thought was good depth. Fuller may have been an "injury" decision for the FO.

For my part I'd rather see us bring Ramsey back into the fold and deal Hill--since we can only afford to take the cap hit for one of them. Post-draft and UDFAgency this team is much better positioned to be run first and the DL makeover will open up a lot of opportunities for our secondary to create turnovers. Ramsey should want to stay at least one more year and build the case for a nice extension from whichever team acquires him in 2026.
I agree with all points.

I thought Pro Day times were usually slower. I think it's fairer to say he's probably a 4.59. And even if he's 4.65 that's still faster than Jerry Rice, Anquan Boldin, Kam Chancelor, and within .02 of Larry Fitzgerald, .07 of X, .09 of Antonio Brown, Joe Haden, and Devante Adams. Justin Simmons and Brian Dawkins ran a 4.61. Xavier Mckinney ran 4.63. Ed Reed was 4.57 but he looked like 4.3. Hufanga was 4.61. The point is, if he can play, the time doesn't matter.
People get really caught up in measurables. Like JJ once said, or something along these lines: "Can he play football?" What I have read on Trader is that Weaver pushed to draft him. That is good enough for me.

Maybe Grier didn't feel like any of the players likely to be there at 116 were worth the pick or better than what else was already on the roster (or that they intended to acquire with later picks or in FA). A 3rd next year is worth a lot more than a cut down casualty this year.
That 3rd + the comp 4th rd. pick for Holland that the Ogbah signing by the Jags opened up for us is setting us up well for next year's draft. Next year we probably still need another high round OLineman + DLineman, so these extra picks will come in handy. I don't see those trenches as being complete yet.

Article I read said Weaver pushed for taking Trader. Apparently Weaver sees something in him. Time will tell.
That would be great if the kid panned out. Not expecting much, but maybe we will be pleasantly surprised!

I read something on espn saying Miamis banking on this kid playing a big role.

Idk

I've recently read it was Weaver who recommended and may have pounded the table for Miami to draft Trader. Appearently he saw him as an asset he can work with on defense. There is growing expectations amongst Dolphins personnel and coaches, Trader has the goods to contribute early.
