And it pains me to even mention it...

NICK SABAN ... And I quote: "The record doesn't really matter, the result doesn't matter and the score in the game doesn't really matter. Does that make sense to anybody besides me?" Oh, I'm sure it makes perfect sense to the factory worker from Fort Lauderdale who had to chose between a family vacation and 2005 Dolphins season tickets. Although I'm not sure what this fan appreciated more: his coach advocating a throw-away season or how he somehow managed to deliver this statement in a condescending tone.

1972 DOLPHINS ... Waiting for the Colts to falter so the only undefeated team in NFL history can celebrate with champagne at another club's failure. Like Fat Albert says, these old dudes kick it like school on Sunday: No class.

DREW ROSENHAUS ... His press conference performance was a true Thanksgiving miracle: watching him actually made me feel sorry for ... The Player Who Shall Not Be Named.

DAVID FLEMING ... No talent, player-hating hack. There, I just saved you the trouble of having to type up your own hate e-mail. Because I know how terribly busy everyone is at work the day before Thanksgiving. Have a great holiday folks.

:chuckle:

About the 1972 Fins. I hear every year that it is classless how they track the last undefeated team then toast their own accomplishment when that team loses. I don't see that as classless. Just a reason for a bunch of guys to have an anual reunion. So they are enjoying their accomplishment in retirement, tha tis when you should look back on things like that. It's not lke they whine about the other team. I'm sure if a team goes undefeated, the 72 guys will be the first to cingratulate them. Just another example of media people looking for something to write. That guy's column goes in my "Turkey of the Year" list.
Oh yeah, Happy Thanksgiving USA. Enjoy the football and the turkey. I'll try to catch that second game when I get home from work.

Dolphan north, you are right.
Why not celebrate something thats been going on for over 30 years? It a heck've thing the 72 Dolphins did. Just think, the NFL started in 1920 and NO team has done that in the history of the league. One team did go undefeated, but they did tie a game, can't remember who, but they didn't win every game.

Agreed, I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion by the media, don't they have enough to write about these days?

How can this guy call the '72 team classless?? Have they said a single word about the Colts??

It's like the jealous woman who sees an attractive woman surrounded by admiring men and proclaims, "I can't stand that *****".

I wish they would explain how it's clasless then just saying it is. Oh my god you can't be serious another franchise wants another franchise to lose? No way!

We'll know if the 72 guys have any class when someone actually goes undefeated (if anyone ever does). Their reaction, whether they congratulate that team or not, will determine if they have class. Not the celebration of their own accomplishment.

:yeahthat:

I stand by the 72 Phins, Ill toast em one too when the Dolts lose. I stand by Saban too, I understand exactly what he was saying and the media needs to stop being stupid about it. They know we are rebuilding, give it a rest. David Fleming can bite me.

17-0 and NOT Having Class?...WTF?

The 72 Dolphins WON them ALL....how about showing them respect for THAT?
All I hear is who they played all the time...???
THEY won them ALL...........Nuff said...

I agree, i cant imagine why people continue to slam the 72 Phins for caring about seeing their undefeated season broken. While Dan Marino showed class in seeing his touchdown record beaten by Manning last year, you knew it was eating him up on the inside that one of his greatest accomplishments was being broken and that he was rooting for it not to happen. The same with Eric Dickerson when Jamal Lewis chased his rushing record. For the 72 Dolphins to root against the last undefeated team, i dont see why it's offensive in any way, and the people who write that it is are just morons looking to create contreversy.
