Why does everyone seem to think he likes to stockpile his picks and bring up his own players?

Because he did last year? In a year after going 4-12 thats what any coach would try, now granted he did it better than most.

Who's to say he doesnt think you can build mostly through the draft then trade those picks for the remaining pieces.

He let go of his 5th and 6th round picks basically in getting Manny Write and Cleo Lemon

Not sure that sounds exactly like someone who loves his picks

Has he ever actually said thats his style? and if not why do we assume so because of 1 year

He knows a lot of players and he wouldn't trade away the future for a risky player like Culppeper

Saban knows his talent and it's an opportunity to bring in his type of players

But if he knows the guy he can get is more talented than the guy he can draft who is to say he wouldnt trade

Daunte had a crazy big injury, he might never get back to where he was. plus do the math. When he had a great target like Moss, he was at the top of the league. Then last year, no Moss, what dfid he do?? double the picks to TDs, trust me, I hadhim on my fantasy team... it was bad

exactly. maybe the guys available aren't worthy of a Daunte. it can be a 2nd rounder and i am sure daunte can be or is better then lets say a S or a CB or whatevr it may be. you dont find Franchise QB's but u do find CB/S often

If you are referring to late round picks, than he would trade them because talent is extremely tough to find at that point in the draft. He gave up a 5th to get a young DT who might have been a 1st RD pick this year.

Explain then why in Daunte's best year moss only caught 48 passes

Daunte came INTO this season with a bad knee, it wasnt what made it tear, but he tried to play through an injury, couple that with a new OC and mediocre recievers and no running game, and you get struggles

what is ur excuse for his bad year in 02? moss was tired that year took breaks? c'mon now, thats everyone excuse no moss no moss daunte had a bad year in 02 and there was a MOSS. MOSS did not MAKE this man. and looka t it this way, young and montana are **** cuz rice made them, delhomme is worse cuz smith made him, and big ben sucks b/c without ward he would be no one. you can't think that way dude. look at it this way, we have CC that is as close as you coem to Moss as their is in the league in my opinion. he jsut had crappy qb's. put DC and CC together and DC wouldn't have to adjust much to CC style of play as he is osmewhat famiiliar with him due to the years with moss. only thing i see, DC seems lke a playground/marino type QB to just sling it out and launch 50 yard passes.
