"It is also believed that the Rams were denied permission by Miami to speak with Dolphins assistant head coach-wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett. He worked with Linehan in Miami last season, and worked with him in Minnesota the previous three seasons."

It a little ways down the page. Wonder if this is true?

Glad to hear we are keeping him.

Bill B denied us access to Mangini last year so it happens.

I think it was more of a situation where Saban wanted to have his new OC in place before deciding what to do with Baggett.

That may be reviewd now that Mularkey has been hired.

if this old news, Mods please kill it...

it was most likely an agreement b/w Saban & baggett..

Saban: "Do you want to stick around Charlie"?
Baggett: "Yeah, I'd rather stay here then go to St Louis"
Saban: "alright im gonna deny them access to you"
Baggett: "sounds good."

More like...

Saban: "Do you want to stick around Charlie"?
Baggett: "Well, I would really rather...."
Saban: "That's what I thought. You'll be staying put!"
Baggett: "sounds good"

I have a question about this. If Baggett was to go to St. Louis, he would be an offensive coordinator, no? That would be a promotion so how could Saban deny premission?

Baggett, I believe, is Assistant Coach. Therefore his only promotion would be Head Coach. Correct me if I am wrong!

Because he's under contract and the only position that can trump that is HC.... but Saban may yet let him go because now he has his OC. Bagget was his backup... IMHO
