he has done it everywhere he has been and he will do it here in 2005!he gameplans so good and will out coach every coach in the nfl on gameday unlike wanny who got owned by just about everyone.so the qb wont determine where the fins go this season everyother position on the team will.

You need a QB to win, he doesn't have to be a Peyton Manning, but you need the QB to make plays regardless of how good your running game is or your defense. This is the NFL, if R & R get hot, defenses will stack the box, and thats when we need a QB.

I don't think he can, the Qb like stated does not have to be great, but he does have to be good. Winning in college and winning in the NFL are two totally different things.

I think we can win with a QB who just keeps his TO under control.

Lets run the ball 35 to 40 times a game with 2 rb, Ricky and Brown, and when we can throw the ball downfield so the defense dont crowd the line.

Unless Gus can take care of business

Sorry bud. But you do need a Qb to win. And if you don't believe me just look at all the years we had Fiedler. Who was probably the biggest joke if there ever was one to be a starting Qb. He was a big part of why we could never get anywhere . Yeah we had a running game but we could never throw downfield farther than 10 yds. So what happpens when you aren't a threat throwing the ball. the defenses stack the line and running backs get beat to death.

Johnson and Dilfer were both solid and good in their SB seasons...

I'm not being funny but I'd probably take Trent Dilfer over AJ and Gus.

EDIT: Gus actually is a solid QB in the mold of Dilfer, Johnson, Gannon...

Oh God no!!! we've been trying this for the last 3 years and it hasnt worked!! we need to open up the passing offense! its the only way our running game will be succesfull. plus i don't think Linehan is a run first type of OC.

Sorry bud but I disagree with you. Gameplanning is one thing, but having a QB who can run your offense is a must in the NFL.

Well, you're right about one thing...every position on the team will count...That is why you have to have a QB that can hold his weight...we don't as of yet...

QB's win games. Teams win Championships.

The worst thing that could have ever happened was Dilfer winning a SB with the Ravens. That defense was insane and probably the best in NFL history. Then everyone felt that was the formula.:roflmao: It's a copycat league and we fell into the line of thinking.

Saban is going to need a bona-fide QB to win. Not a superstar, but a Trent Green type who can make plays and win games.
