I must say the team that played 5 pre-season games this year was a far cry from the team that smacked the Broncos yesterday. I turned on the T.V. expecting more of the same from the pre-season and through most of the first half that's what I got. Field goals, penalties, a strong desire to take a nap at halftime. Then it all changed.
The second half was a whole different story.

I have to say that in this game it was definately coaching that made a huge difference. How many times last year did we see the half come up and no adjustments made?

I also wonder in regards to such a blah pre-season exhibition if Saban's admitted lack of game planning was to keep his the rest of the league in the dark about who the Dolphins really are. He sure fooled me.

I think he fooled Shanahan as well. :)

Bring on the Jets!

It was nice to see the ingame changes that needed to be made were actually BEING made. Something we never saw with Wanny untill it was far too late.

I don't remember any in game changes with Wanny except for the score changing in our opponent's favor.
I thought it would take at least two years for our fins to get it together, but Saban did it in one week.

And Saban uses every advantage he has. We went into the hurry up offense to make their guys even more tired in the second half.

This is creative coaching...he will do what it takes to put our guys in position to win.

We will never get out coached...we may lose..but we wont get out coached.

Been a while since that could be said about us.

Maybe it's because for the last 5 years, our coaches haven't outcoached a little league coach, but..

Saban showed that he is NOT the previous regime. He showed he's willing to gamble (going for two 4th and inches), willing to admit his plan wasn't working (making adjustments to the protection scheme when it was obvious in the first half Gus didn't have much time to throw and Denver was bent on stopping the run) and adjustments to the DL (spreading them out some in the second half, playing towards the pass, instead of the run, using more 3-4, fewer blitzes and more nickle and dime packages).
It's quite nice to see...he'll be fun to watch this season...

Truer words never spoken. Whatever the end of season brings it will be FUN to watch. It's been quite some time since I had fun watching the Fins. Usually I'm pacing around my living room, F-bombing the T.V. and making everyone in the house edgy.

That's a very good point about adjusting at halftime. And if we win a few more soon, I'll be convinced about the other part you said...keeping everyone else in teh dark. I think that was some of what was going on in pre-season. I keep bringing this up....the fact that we have only won the 2 games we game planned for our opponents specifically. That's important.

After week one there should be at least one thing that's evident regarding Miami...When you play Saban's Dolphins you will be playing a physical football team!...Saban has said several times that what we want is for teams to hate playing us...That's the message that we sent against DEN...We played physical and we slapped them around the place...And I doubt that they're looking forward to another go at us anytime soon...For the Jets to beat Miami they need to get into that Physical mindset or they will go down hard again.

MIA players are saying that we didn't even scratch the surface of our defensive playbook against DEN...I'm supremely confident from an X's and O's standpoint with Saban and Linehan at the helm. As long as we play with Toughness and Discipline...and Gus keeps his poise...I think we can beat anybody. MIAMI 35 NYJ 17:whip2:

He must have also got the attention of the OL at half time regarding the false starts, b/c I do not recall any in the 2nd half.
